Chapter 3

I woke up in a room I didn’t recognize. My anxiety started to act up again and I started to breathe heavy. I could feel tears running down my face. I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder.

“It’s okay. It’s fine. I’m here.” The touch sent tingles through my shoulder and I felt comforted by the voice. I looked up to see Alexander. The guy who kidnapped me. I gasped.

“GET AWAY FROM ME! PLEASE DON’T HURT ME!” I screamed, getting off the bed and crawling back to the corner of the room. I could see hurt in his eyes.

“I would never hurt you. I had to do this.” He said.

“My friends will look for me. My parents.” I lied. I didn’t have any friends and my parents were dead.

“I promise I won’t hurt you. You can call your parents and friends and whoever the fuck you want. You can do anything you want, I just can’t let you leave.” He said. I could call my grandma. Or the police.

“I just need to tell you something and you need to trust me just for this second. Please don’t be scared.” I looked at him hesitantly. What was he going to say. “Okay…” I said.

“Do you believe in werewolves?” He asked.

I had actually been asking myself this for a while. I had read so many werewolf books and watched so many movies I had no idea anymore. “I don’t know.” I said.

“Okay…” He stopped for a second and started to strip down to his underwear. “What are you DOING?” I asked, startled.

He took a deep breath in and out and closed his eyes tightly and I sat there in shock as I watched him turn into a huge brown wolf.

“Oh my god…” I sat there in shock. I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do. “Oh my god…”

He looked at me with his deep eyes and I tried to stop staring but I couldn’t. “Explain please.” I said, finding my words.

He grabs his clothes he took off in his mouth and walked off to the bathroom. About a minute later he returned fully clothed.

I was shocked. Terrified. I didn’t know what to do, but I knew I needed answers. I needed to know what was going on.

He sat on the side of my bed and I scooted over. I didn’t want to be near him. “Tell me what just happened.” I demanded.

He sighed. “Well, as you just saw, werewolves exist. We don’t only change on a full moon. We can change anytime we want, especially when our anger gets out of control, or when our wolf needs some kind of release.” I closed his eyes for a second. “We have mates. They mean everything to us. They’re our other half. We would do anything for them. Protect them. Comfort them. Anything. You’re my mate.” He finished.

I looked at him shocked. “You kidnapped me…because I’m your mate?”
