That night y/n barely got any rest. She was meant to imitate sleep whilst reading through all the files in her head, but she simply couldn't do it.

Images of the android deviant flashed through her memory. Reliving the moment over and over again.

She had been sitting at her desk for an hour now, staring blankly into the mirror. Her pyjamas hanging loosely on her. A pair  of shorts and a  t-shirt that read 'to want to need to be' oddly fitting for her situation. A slight knock sounded at her bedroom door.

"Hey kid. You alright? It's been kinda quiet in here."

"Yeah Hank... I'm fine. Just thinking..."

"About?"

"Just... Earlier... What that deviant was saying... He was so scared... He didn't want to die, but he didn't want to be taken back... Replaced... Recycled... I just... Dunno how to feel about it." Hank sighed, not knowing what to say. After a moment he took a seat the the end of her bed, watching her sit with her head in her hands.

"Look, kid. I dunno what to tell you. But you seem to have put yourself into the androids shoes. Metaphorically that is. You don't need to take it too seriously, I mean, it's not like your an android yourself, so you've got nothing to worry about. Okay kid?" Oh Hank... If only you knew.

Suddenly they heard a small bang against her window. They both looked over to see Connor's head peaking in the window. He was looking right at them, almost shell shocked that he had been noticed.

"He does realize we can see him, right?" Hank looked over that Y/n, she shrugged her shoulders. "Ugh. Stupid f***ing androids." Hank left the room as y/n motioned for him to climb through the open window. Connor obliged and climbed in the small space. He put his upper body through first and flopped onto the grey carpet.

"Nailed it." He said, almost robotic but with a hint of sarcasm hidden within his words.

"Totally nailed it. Anyway what's up?"

"I wanted to check on you and see if you was alright. You didn't seem to be in the right mental state earlier. I can't have an unstable cop working with me on this case.

"What about Hank? He's more unstable than me, and he's human!"

"That is a different matter entirely."

"Well, who knows. Maybe adapting to unpredictable people and circumstances could be one of your special features." I winked at him. Why did I wink?

Connor's LED flashed yellow for a split second before he made his way over to me. He placed a hand on my shoulder. I watched as his skin disappeared, replaced by the white of the metallic structure of the android itself.

I blacked out for a moment. I woke to find myself lying on my bed. Connor sitting by my feet.

"Ah you're awake. You're probably wondering what I done to you. I simply moved the memory over to myself. That way you do not have to worry anymore. You will know about it, but you will not be attached as you will no longer feel like you was there. Is that ok. If it isn't you can just tell me and I shall put it back."

"No, no Connor. It's ok. I actually feel a lot better now. Thank you."

"You seem to thank me a lot. Why is that?"

"Well, you are helping me. Despite the fact you threatened me when we first met. So, anytime you help me, I want to thank you. It doesn't feel right if I don't say it."

"I'm sorry if I scared you when we first met." Connor's voice was much softer now, the demanding tone was gone. "I didn't mean to frighten you. I was just unsure as to how to react at first. It was my first time encountering a deviant and I panicked, only slightly, but still. I'm sorry." He looked down at his lap, seeming almost ashamed of himself. I placed my hands on top of his.

"It's ok. I understand, besides, you've been nothing but good to me since then, and I think you're the only person I feel like I can really trust. Other than Hank of course, but even he doesn't know everything."

Connor looked down at my hands and back up at my face, his LED once again flashing yellow.

"I trust you too, y/n."
