Chapter 24

Carli's POV:

"We are expecting a call soon for me to play in Europe for a few months" I say

"Carli everything will be fine, I bet Sophia would love to travel with you" Amy says

"You think? Kelley and Alex weren't people to like traveling during the off season" I say

"Just because her parents are Kelley and Alex doesn't mean she will be exactly like them" Amy says

"Let's get all this stuff put in the moving van and we'll talk more about this later" Amy also says

"Thank you for the help" I say

"Anything for my teammates and friends" Amy says while picking up some boxes

Time skip

"Do you think Sophia will like New Jersey Amy?" I say to her on Bluetooth

"I think so, no mountains but almost the same kind of weather in New Jersey's, just have to get her to adjust to the new living situation" Amy says

"I got to go, the boys are doing something they shouldn't be doing, safe travels" Amy says

"Bye Amy" I say

Sophia's life has really changed, every since Kelley and Alex passed away reporters have been bugging me and Brian about Sophia.

I felt bad for Kelley and Alex because they had to deal with people getting into their personal life, but then again no one could get to their house since it was in a gated community.

Before me and Brian even left New Jersey I told him to buy a better security system, I didn't care how much it was, I don't want some crazy photographer climbing up our house trying to get pictures of Sophia.

Did I mention to everyone that the boxes which still hasn't been open for Kelley and Alex to me and Sophia are sitting on the door passenger seat?

I didn't want to open mine yet, I wasn't ready for what they put in it, also I just feel it was too early... it's only been a week since their death and I wasn't emotionally ready

Kelley and Alex family understood I didn't want it opened so they had been sitting on the kitchen counter till I brought them with me.

4 days later

Finally after making it to from Utah to New Jersey, I made it home, Sophia was playing in a kiddy pool with Brian sitting in a lawn chair.

"Hey you Made it!" Brian says before walking over and giving me quick kiss

"Has she been acting out?" I say while opening the back of the rental truck

"Nope, she's been great, playing in the backyard with some toys we bought at the store" Brian says

"That's good, well I brought everything from her room to set up for her room, I was thinking we should maybe paint her room like Kelley and Alex had her room before just to make it feel like she's at home?" I say

"That's fine with me, I can start this week end if you want, Sophia do you want to help me decorate your room later? Look what Carli brought for you!" Brian says while picking up Sophia from the kiddy pool

Right after this probably the most heart warming thing happened

"Mommy!" Sophia says

Brian looks at Sophia in shock and then looks at me, My eyes go wide and my mouth drops

"Wait Sophia, what did you say, repeat that"

"Mommy!" Sophia says with a huge smile

Now I'm looking at Brian seeing if he planned this

"I didn't plan this, I didn't even know she was going to say it"

"Soph, mommy and momma are up in heaven watching over you, they are momma and momma" I say while picking her up from Brian

And all Sophia could do was shake her head and point at me saying "momma!"

Now I get it....

I've been with her for the past almost 2 weeks taking care of her and now she thinks I'm her mom

This must be Kelley and Alex's message to me

I look up to the blue sky with a few clouds and I say quietly "I know you guys are watching over her, that was your message to me you are watching over us, god I miss you two so much" I say while shedding a tear
