Thunk!

Her arrow pierced the target splitting the previous one into half. This was the most satisfying thing about wooden arrows, you would cut them into half easily.

"Nice one, kiddo."her father commented beside her.The vibration of his voice was loud enough for her to understand what he was saying.Plus she could see him so it was more easy to read his lips.

Valerie gave him a smile as she placed another arrow on her bow,she raised it and aimed while pulling the string close to her cheek.Squinting slightly her hazel eyes she let the string go.The arrow zipped through the air and hit a few centimeters away from the middle of the target.A faint sound escaped her lips.

Since she was a child she knew that she would never be as good as her father was.Clint Barton aka Hawkeye was the best archer humanity knew.He knew his bow like his right arm and his arrows like his eyes. Each time she was more and more fascinated with her father.

"No worries, you tried that's what matters."he spoke clearly towards her direction as he placed his big hand on her shoulder.

'I could do better.'she used her hands to motion her words.Ever since her parents had purchased the earpieces she detested them. Not only they made her scared of every little sound at nights but she was easy on loosing them. She kept them in her room in need of emergency but aside from that she was starting to cope well.

She had realized, now that she was older, that life was important and she was willing to live the hell out of it.Just because she couldn't hear she wasn't going to let herself fall into despair.

"You did amazing, now rest."her father ruffled the top of her head. With long strides he moved towards their safe house. Finally being at the age of nineteen her father explained her his position. He was a part of a company named S.H.I.E.L.D.,but being an agent meant being in touch and reach 24/7.Which meant him being away frequently. Each time he left was unsure if he was going to come back.

In his position was Natasha as well.Valerie though hadn't seen her for a long time. She didn't knew her well to miss her but still the idea of her not returning back to her own people was devastating. From the few things she had taught her at her stay here-which was in order for cover from some bad organizations she had no idea about-was how to punch. It definitely made her hands bruised and she still wasn't very good at it.

Another thing she taught her was the use of her surroundings.Being a brunette was a plus since her head could not be visible in dark places.Behind trees, under bushes and every dark corner were the best places.Natasha was a skilled assassin with the ability of killing anyone with the blink of an eye.A reason she stepped away from her training was because she couldn't find it in her to kill someone. If that was a part of her father's job she would be devastated.

In the first years of her deafness her father was away for a very long time. The hammer situation,he had mentioned so long ago had taken much longer than she had anticipated. While Natasha was entwined with a man she still refused to name. She had minimum information as to who was he or who was Natasha anyway.

What confused her though was why they were hidden from the world.Their house was built in the middle of nowhere, literally.Clint was often using a private jet,a few miles away from their house in order to reach his work. The next village was a few hours drive from here. She often wondered if they were closer to the hospital if her hearing would be like before.

The secrets her father and Natasha shared were a lot.Valerie was sure that her mother knew but she would never utter a word for the shake of her children's safety.Though her siblings had no idea at all.Lila had taken a like to Natasha and often called her aunt Nat,while Cooper observed quietly.
