It all begun one early morning. The sky was clear and the light had just made its way through Stiles' window. The pale boy rested his head on his white pillow and looked up to the ceiling. He was lonely today, as usual. His father was always out during the night, fighting crime. It seemed as every night grew darker and for his dad to never say goodnight before Stiles went to bed, became more and more natural.

Question after question, Stiles couldn't stop thinking about it. Ever since that one night a few days ago when he heard his father's co-workers discuss a relatively new trend--a pattern in their investigation, ever since then, Stiles had continued to listen in to what supposedly were secret conversations. He had heard the details, even. The things he weren't allowed to known, he knew... It begun to become a larger problem each day as his sleeping habits continued to change as drastically, following the patterns of his father.

"To hell with it," Stiles said and his curiosity lead him from his bed and out the door to the dark forest not far away from his house where he heard strange noises.

The forest seemed darker than usual. The trees had grown closer, creating shadows and not enough light to cover the spaces Stiles passed. Lately, what had been circulating his mind was the supernatural. He knew he wasn't crazy. He had seen things and heard the most bizarre conversations. All made sense to him but if he were to speak of it in front of the others he'd have to suffer the consequences he wasn't ready for.. Surely, they would consider him crazy. Although, the thoughts couldn't leave him--the unanswerable questions--he craved an answer. Stiles had for long suspected that something mythical had to do with all the murders as he himself had done some investigation and tracked the moon's cycle together with the attacks. If he would have told his father, perhaps they could solve the mysteries together? Or if Stiles had been able to hear over exactly all the numerous conversations fully everytime--then perhaps he could solve it all himself?

He continued to walk further and further into the uninviting forest. It didn't scare him a bit. He thought it was alluring, actually. It gave him a kick, adrenaline, something.. He passed a blue flower and whispered quietly to himself.

"Wolf's Bane,"

Far away, a loud growl was heard. It urged and yielded with stronger emotions than Stiles could bare. The growl continued to echo throughout the forest and seemed louder and louder each time as if it was coming closer and closer. A shadow felt as if it moved, followed Stiles almost and as the now scared boy turned his head once again something or someone touched his shoulder. Stiles froze, still in his position. Breathing got harder and each seemed as yet another weight got put on his shoulders. By him, he saw a shadow displaying itself on the ground and suddenly as he stopped breathing, someone seemed to continue for him...

Without doubt, because of his never-ending curiousty, Stiles turned to face whatever was behind him. To his surprise, there stood a man in front of him. Stiles almost screamed as he saw Derek Hale brushing himself off. The man's fingertips, which were cold as ice, placed themselves on his lips and he became quiet

"You don't want us to be caught by a couple of Alpha's do you?" Derek leaned in and whispered in Stiles' ear.

"I'm sorry, what?" Stiles asked, as confused as ever.

Derek grunted in frustration as he had accidentally revealed a secret Scott had seemed to be hiding from him relatively well... He sighed.

"Nothing," he said after a long silence.

"Why are you everywhere? I'm not scared of you, it's not that. But, you are everywhere," Stiles pointed out, remembering times when he had seen Derek outside of class by the lockers leaning his back to the wall and perhaps waiting for someone?

"Why so suspicious?" Derek asked, almost sounding insecure by the tone of his voice flattening out towards the end of his sentence.

Stiles moved back his shoulders and answered.

"I don't know," he said and looked up to the dark and mystique sky.

The same noise, that now Stiles could identify as a growl of some sort, seemed to get louder. It had moved closer.

"Great. Just great," Derek said.

"What? What is that? I'm too young to die!" Stiles almost shouted, his voice filled with worry and fright, looking around Derek and himself in search for the possible animal that made the uncomfortable sounds.

A shadow of a dog, more like a wolf crossed them both quickly. Stiles freaked out but before he could scream yet once more Derek covered his mouth, putting on a threatening front.

"If you scream, we'll both get killed!" he whispered in a frustrated tone.

"What does that matter to me?" Stiles succeed saying even with Derek's hand over his mouth. "I'm referring to your threats, just so you--" he continued but got interrupted before he could end his sentence.

"I know," Derek said. "Now, shut up or they'll develop into reality."

Another howl seemed as if it came from nearby. The horrid noise almost could have come from behind them... It was silent for a minute or two before Stiles got a grip of Derek's hand and pulled it away from his mouth so that he could be able to speak.

"What is going on?" Stiles quipped.

As Derek didn't answer he gulped.

"It's right behind me... Isn't it?" Stiles guessed correctly.
