Stiles woke up with Derek beside him. He smirked and thought of yesterday. He just couldn't help not to lean over and kiss Derek's forehead before discreetly leaving. If Stiles knew his dad, he'd be very worried. As Stiles sneaked out of bed, Derek opened his eyes. He smiled to the innocent figure departing and closed his eyes once more.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Stiles dad screamed as he saw Stiles.  "I WAS ABOUT TO GO NUTS!"

"Um, I was just out," Stiles answered shortly.

"Oh, really now?" his dad replied sarcastically.

"I was at Scott's house, okay? We were doing homework and then we fell asleep!" Stiles lied.

"I already called Ms. McCall." his dad said.

"Well, I..." Stiles rambled, looking at the white walls only to avoid his father's judgemental glares.

"He was with me," someone said who had just entered the room.

The two turned and saw Lydia Martin standing by their outdoor. Stiles smiled to her and she back. His dad eyed her confusedly and thought of the fact that this would be the first girl Stiles had shown interest for. There were times where he thought girls weren't Stiles thing, but honestly this made him rather happy.

"He was too shy to tell you..." Lydia lied, taking out a condom from her pocket.

Stiles hid a laughter as he saw his dad's face expression change.

"Say no more," he finally said awkwardly and walked back inside the house.

Lydia giggled.

"That was amazing. Thanks!" Stiles thanked. "But why?"

She glanced down on the ground and kicked away some gravel.

"Jackson dumped me and I need someone to go with me to prom,"

"I would be honoured," Stiles said and smiled gladly, even though she had used him.

"Great,"

It was prom night and Stiles was on his way to pick up Lydia.

"Thanks again for renting a better car than my piece of crap jeep," Stiles thanked his dad before leaving.

"Trust me. It's for my good," his dad answered, referring to the condom Lydia had pulled out earlier. "And that's not a piece of crap jeep. Maybe you would like taking the piece of crap school bus instead to school?" his dad threatened.

Stiles cocked his head for no and instantly started the car. The car was a polished silver porch, not very unlike Jackson's... On the other end, Derek was at home and alone as usual. The thought of visiting prom and Stiles wandered around in his mind. Perhaps there was a chance it would all turn out well if he did? Maybe he will see something interesting? He wasn't going to party, he just wanted to keep an eye on Scott and Stiles.

Stiles had waited a good while for Lydia, but she never showed up. He decided to knock on her door and her mother opened.

"She's upstairs." she said

"I am panicking here. I don't know whether to have the red och pink lipstick. I look terrible, oh my god!" Lydia stressed.

"Well, I think you look beautiful," Stiles said romantically.

Lydia stopped and gave Stiles a look of appreciation for what he had just said.

"You do?"

Stiles nodded and pointed to the red lipstick.

"Picture time!" Lydia's mom shouted.

The two walked down the stairs together, hand in hand, and Lydia's mom smiled happily. Stiles squeezed Lydia's hand and before they knew it the picture had been taken and they were off to prom.

"Is that Jackson's car?" Lydia asked worryingly.

"Um, it's mine." Stiles said.

"Oh. Sorry, it reminded me of his car." she said and it got awkward.

                                                                                *

Stiles and Lydia stepped inside and saw everyone dancing. People were in groups talking, holding drinks. The music banged to loudly in their ears, it was hard to hear. Lydia looked hypnotized in the way she glared at Jackson and searching the floor for his face. Then, she saw him. He was going with Allison. They didn't seem very loving towards each other. Mostly, Jackson seemed to enjoy his drink and sit alone. Out of his own pocket, he kept pulling out his own alcohol...

"You can go," Stiles said to Lydia and quickly she hurried away.

He sighed and went to look for Scott.

"Hi!" someone whispered in Stiles' ear.

It was Derek.

"What are you doing here?" Stiles looked at him surprisingly. "This is a prom for students only!"

"They're so drunk, they wouldn't even notice a werewolf pack running past," Derek said confidently. "And, I'm not here to bother you. I was just going to say hello. I'm going to stay for a while more—to watch over you."

"Is that a threat?" Stiles questioned jokingly but Derek didn't laugh.

"No. It's the full moon tonight." he said.
