Chapter III

The next morning around seven, i headed downstairs to the banquet room for breakfast along with Sam and Nolan, already present in the room was Spud, General Losty and the Emperor along with some guards. As i walked in i stared at the Emperor, who was staring dead straight ahead of him, his eyes slightly squinting, if i was in any way right i believe he was having a short flashback, after i took my seat at the table he seemed to be himself again breaking into conversation with Bandza, he rose his right up and everyone respectfully took their seats. "Would anyone here have any questions for me? I understand some of you may be shocked at my new position and uncertain as to what the future of Woolfswood may be, and let me tell you it will be one of prosperity and peace and unity, but first we must achieve these goals before they be implemented....", walking in, completely interrupting the Emperor was a young servant girl, the whole rooms attention turned to this young Navan girl, "Swine" shouted General Losty at her, he rose from his seat and walked towards the girl who was only about 16,..."Stop" shouted the Emperor, "leave her be, while she interrupted by entering, i will allow this mistake, please take your leave girl", she was filled with joy through her smile and she simply bowed and left. "Im expecting Commander Quint from kells, kells are our allies as you know, but all i know is that something isnt right there"....Walking into the banquet room was commander Quint, he had just arrived in navan by horse, i was tucking into my breakfast of white pudding, Sausages and bacon and wasnt too much attention when a fucking loud shout came from the emperor across the room, "How fucking Dare you commander Quint, Arriving over twenty minutes late to my meeting, the Emperor, you fucking fool"..and just stared at Commander Quint with rage in his eyes, the Commander was Frozen solid and his eyes open wide with fright and shock, he didnt say a word back, the Emperor rose to his feet, walked towards the Commander right up until he was nearly in his face, they just stared at each other for a few moments and i saw the slightest grin on each of their faces, the grin widened by the seconds until the two broke out into a full on laugh and began hugging each other, the whole room found it amusing and laughed even the guards on duty, other than me, i fucking nearly choked on my bacon when the Emperor first shouted and scared the shit out of me.

Commander Quint took a seat at the banquet table, everyone was still grinning and getting last giggles out when the Emperor asked Commander Quint aloud, "What brings you here so friend, Kells has become an independent ally kingdom of ours since the fall of Navan", Quint took up and apple from a platter on the table, took and bite and calmly said, "I know, but ive fled kells", i looked up from my food and looked at the Emperor awaiting to see his response, he simply asked "why", and Quint just looked at him, and said "Well, ive Killed the Lord Duke PLain", the whole room went silent and just looked at the Emperor, although i looked over at Sam who for some reason was fiddling with his chair, it wobbled and he was tryna fix it, when suddenly the chair he was sitting on fell apart and Sam fell straight to the floor letting out a small cry of pain, he had completely disappeared under the table, beside me Nolan had also seen it and let off a really loud snigger in the silent room, "Youve killed Lord Duke Plain, why?" asked the Emperor. Commander Quinn gently placed his chalice on the table, took a deep breath and replied, "Kells is fucked, a vassal of kells, the MoonCrows, a rather fierce bunch to be honest, cannibals too, well they've used dark magic and illusion to permanently corrupt the Lord Dukes head, he began killing of nobles, killing children and two weeks ago, he ordered 2 pregnant women to be raped and then burned at the stake for "being women", so I killed him and fled here, I need your help retaking kells, I should also become Lord Duke in his place", The emperor, completely shocked but showing no emotion, simply raised his eyebrows up and then down again, he then stood, wiped his mouth with a napkin, leaned onto the table and began to talk, "The MoonCrows will pay for there treachery for a start"...he turned to a knight in the room, "Take a horse and ride to woolfswood, inform General losty to send 2,000 Foot soldiers and 80 crossbow men to here at once", The guard saluted him by placing his right hand on his heart, "Yes you're grace" and left. "Now, why should I make you Lord duke of kells?" Asked the emperor, Commander Quint, still sitting, replied "To rule of course" and gave a sarcastic smile, "You will take Mark, Sam and spud and the soldiers, if you can defeat the MoonCrow clan and restore the peace then I will grant your request my friend" stated the emperor. I rose from my seat and left the room.
