Perhaps Taehyung had been hallucinating. I mean, there was no way a four year old could possibly splutter such explicit vocabulary-

Taehyung literally shook his head and reminded himself he was talking about a toddler who's brain cells are in no way fully developed here, surely Jay calling him his 'daddy' meant nothing, or possibly meant the younger considered he was Taehyung's biological offspring.

"Call me hyung," Taehyung managed to choke out, after having recovered from his exaggerated near-death asphyxiation.

Jay just laughed his adorable giggle, and Taehyung thought how daring the child's audacity was to do such a thing.

-

Taehyung relentlessly washed the used cutlery, and left Jay sprawled on the couch, watching Dora The Explorer and giggling every time Dora and Boots would shriek "Swiper no swiping!"

It was such a pleasure, Taehyung thought, of caring for this child though he had just done so for a few days. It was like he grew attached to the younger. And as much as it pains him, he just dreaded the moment where things had to go back to it's rights, and Jay would be stripped away from his life forever. But whenever it would occur, Taehyung just had to learn to be contented with the memories he has, because in the end, that's all everyone gets.

Jay's big, round eyes were slowly inching towards each other by the time Taehyung finished with the dishes. But they immediately snapped open when Jay saw his hyung walking in.

"Sleepy," Jay said, rubbing his eyes. Taehyung felt a pang of guilt in his chest when he realised how many times he had left the younger to sleep by himself. How lonely it might have been on its own.

So he did the most logical thing possible. He carried Jay and felt the younger snuggling close up to his neck, and patted his back soothingly while dancing to his humming.

Taehyung always had a passion for his singing, and he often vocalises during his free times. He never really took his voice so seriously as to using at as a profession, though his friends had clearly stated otherwise.

But when Jay, out of all the few people he had met in his life, had commented something about it, he could not get the complement out of his head. Why would he even believe a child?

"Hyungie's voice's good," Jay commented sleepily, and snuggled up closer to Taehyung, whilst the latter struggled standing with a melting heart.

Soon Jay fell asleep safe in Taehyung's firm grasp and was snoring slightly. Both were pretty much cuddled up each other on the couch, as if monotony didn't exist, and that Taehyung didn't have to go back to work the following week.

-

"Baby," Taehyung said, out of desperation. The youngest was practically fisting balls of Taehyung's fabric into his small hands, and begging him not to go and leave him there.

Over the weekend, Taehyung had asked Jin to come over everyday whenever he had work and possibly take care of the child, of course after going through the part where he told his hyung about how the hell he had spent one day in the apartment on his own, and the next with a goddamn child.

Jin also had stated he was bringing along his boyfriend, Namjoon, in case the latter tried to cook without the elder's consent and possibly burn down their already dilapidated house.

The good news was that both of them had agreed to do so, which was nothing compared to what Taehyung was going to face.

What he was not expecting was the tantrum Jay had unexpectedly thrown while he was heading out the door.

Namjoon and Jin looked helplessly at the sight of Jay clinging onto one of Taehyung's legs, while the latter groaned for the thirtieth time.

The situation had lasted for about half an hour now, and Taehyung knew if Jay wouldn't let go of his leg in another ten minutes, he officially would be late for work.

At this point, Taehyung was inching towards his breaking point, and he asked his two hyungs, a little too disrespectfully too, what the hell they were doing just standing around.

Jin and Namjoon finally snapped out of their war with their stifled laughs, and proceeded to pick Jay up. But obviously that would be a challenge.

"Jay let go please," Jin said rather patiently. Being the eldest hyung amongst his irrational friends has trained him well.

Meanwhile Namjoon tried everything he could to try and break the toddler's grasp from Taehyung's pants, but to no avail.

Six minutes left.

"Jay please," Taehyung pleaded for the thousandth time. "Hyung's gonna be late for work and his boss might fire him."

"Want Hyungie to stay!" Jay's plea was just as desperate as Taehyung's.

How the hell could they both get what they wanted without upsetting the other?

Then, Namjoon suddenly caught Jay's attention.

"Hey would you look at that bird-"

Immediately, Jay spun around wildly, and Jin took advantage of it. He quickly, but swiftly pulled Jay's hands away from Taehyung's pants before mouthing "get the fuck out of here now!" to the latter and distracting Jay by carrying him to the window.

Taehyung took this chance and quickly slipped out of the slightly ajar door, shutting it closed behind him.

He had finally made it out of his apartment, except with Jay abruptly banging on the door and screaming just behind him.

He proceeded to his workplace, praying that familiar pang of guilt in his chest would not distract him for the day.
