Orlando, Florida

She grabbed her bags from the side of the bed, she didn't have much anyway so she could handle it on her own; this was probably the only thing he'd let her handle on her own, she felt like that wasn't true either though. She started to run down the stairs as fast as she could, she just wanted to leave this hell hole she called a home. That's a lie, she never called this place a home, a home to her meant loving, comforting, and a place of security but this place was the only place she didn't feel that way. As she opened the door almost close to complete freedom, she heard a voice barking at her from the top of the stairs.

"Where do you think you're going Akaiya?!"

She slowly turned to face her ex at the top of the stairs. "I'm leaving, ok? I'm tired of the abuse, I'm tired of staying up late nights waiting for you to come home and worrying if you're ok, I'm tired of being treated like I don't matter!" She was finally standing up for herself, she felt this dark pain from her soul rising out out of her, she was done feeling like a damsel in distress.

"Where do you think you're going to go huh? No one loves you, I'm the only one who has been there for you. You're just an ungrateful bitch! I hope you come back to my door begging to come back like a dog!"

"And I hope you'll grow a pair but, unfortunately I don't think either of those things are going to happen!" She turned away and stepped out of the house slamming the door behind her, that dark pain was finally gone hopefully to never come back. She walked to the bus stop wondering why she had put up with his crap for so long. She sat on the bench alone at the bus stop and waited for the bus to come waiting for it to finally make this change permanent.

"I'm finally free. It's time for a fresh start, a new beginning." She took a sigh of relief as the bus pulled up. She gathered her bags and walked on the bus not looking behind her. She didn't know what was to come but, at this moment she didn't care. All she cared about was getting as far away from this place as possible.

"Next stop, Savannah, Georgia." the bus driver announced with an assertive tone.

The drive was going to take awhile but it was all going to be worth it, and there was no turning back now not that she would want to anyway.

What's going to happen next in Akaiya's journey? Is she finally free? Read more to find out....
