Chapter13- So What Now?

"Oh my god, James. What're you doing here." I yelled over the noise.
"Let's talk outside. Less noise."
On the way out I told Mariah where I was going and she winked at me.
"So what're you doing here?" I said again feeling nervous.
"Same reason as you. Trying to get out and attempt to forget about us."
"Oh..." I said not knowing how to feel.
"But the thing is....I can't." He paused and stopped walking so he could face me.
I kinda wanted to change the subject because I was afraid. Of what? I have no idea. "So were you like listening to all of me and Alex's conversation?" I said with a laugh.
"Actually no. I saw you and I was gonna come talk but you were with him. I only caught the last part you said."
"Oh okay."
"And is what you said true."
"Uhhh....yeah. Every word." I said blushing.
"So let's fix this, us."
"I'm up to it if you are, Big Shot."
"Of course I am, Nobody." He took my hand and we walked, not knowing where he was taking me. Not caring at all where we were going, I squeezed his hand tighter.

We arrived at Olive Garden. It has always been my favorite restaurant ever since I was little. On the walk here we talked about what we've been doing since the break up. I had nothing to tell considering I was at home except for when I was at SNL. I felt comfortable knowing it was the same for him.
He opened the door for me and we walked in. We ordered and talked to past the time.
"So is this a date?" I said with a laugh.
"Only if you say yes because if you don't then no." He said. We both laughed because we were reflecting to the first time he asked me out.
"It's good hanging out with you again, James."
"Yeah you too pal."
Our food arrived and he walked me home. We arrived at my apartment and again I wished the walk lasted forever as I did on our fist date. He had his hands in his pockets and he was swaying back and forth.
"Nervous there, Big Shot?" I said with a smile.
"Yeah a lil bit."
"Why?"
"Because I'm deciding whether it would be a good idea to kiss you or not."
I felt butterflies and I too wanted to kiss him.
"Well maybe I can decide for you." I walked up to him and kissed him. It was perfect. He was perfect. When we pulled apart I bit my lip because I was tempted to kiss him again.
"So see you soon?" He said.
"James, you can come up if you want." I said.
"I'd love that." He wrapped his arm around my waiste and we walked inside.
