I soon learned the last name of the family was Krous. I stayed with them for awhile and whenever I was asked about my condition that they found me in I'd always tell them that I had lost my job and was living off the street. My fictional job? I was a sawmill worker from Michigan and after loosing my job I headed south to try to find my family again but I had no idea where they were. I wasn't sure how but they bought everything I told them. I didn't think I was that good of a lier but I guess that's how another perk of my curse. I avoided the sun whenever I could there. They never asked about it as long as I did any work I could do at night or inside the house. Looking back I was happy with such a stupidly simple life. Idiotic to think I could ever be satisfied like that. But back to my story.

One day I was sitting in their living room next to Amy. Over the months I called that house my home I had grown close to the family. The fsther took me up as pretty much his son and Deb was always so nice to me... Amy and I were best friends. We talked about everything. Anyways we were talking and she brought up a question I hadn't been asked yet.

"Why don't you go to school Bryan?" I was surprised as I hadn't thought of this.

"Amy don't you remember I'm 23." I took the first excuse that came to mind.

"Come on Bryan you're not 23. You don't even look older than me and I just turned 17 a few months ago." She was smarter than I thought. "Come on. Why don't you go to school? You're a run away right?"

I was shocked by how much she could tell. "Don't tell anyone..."

"It's ok I won't."

"I ran away from home and before that I dropped out anyways..."

"I knew it!" she teased me a little. "It's alright Bryan I won't tell my parents." She adjusted herself on the couch a little so I had to move slightly.

"Thanks Amy. How could you tell though?"

She laughed at my question. "It's soeasy to tell when someones the same age as you in such a small town." She pushed my playfully and I laughed a little.

"What grade are you in anyways. I know you go to school but what grade?"

"I'm a senior."

I sat and thought she must have been moved up a grade.

"Hey I can get us some brownies from the fridge!" She got up and ran to the kitchen.

"Umm alright." I still hated eating normal food but I suffered through it. It didn't make me feel undrained but it helped.

"Oww!" I heard her yell from the other room and I came running into the kitchen.

"What happened?!" I could see she was holding a rag on her hand and it was soaked in blood. "Let me see." I lifted the cloth and saw that she had a gash in her hand from cutting the brownies.

"I was cutting the brownies when the pan fell of the counter and I slipped trying to catch it." tears came from her eyes and I laid the rag down and turned on the faucet and put her hand under it.

"Does it feel better?" I asked.

She looked at me. "Yes. Thanks." She looked at the brownie crums on the floor. "Sorry about the brownies..." I gave her a little smile when she said this.

"Do you have any bandades?" I asked.

"Yeah I'll go get them." she turned off the faucet and left the room.

I was waiting in the room when I suddenly smelled the blood soaked rag and I looked at it. It was the first time I was attracted to blood and I picked it up and sniffed the rag. I shivered from the fantastic aroma it gave me. "Oh god..." My head went back from it. I looked at it and nervously poked the rag with my tounge. It was the first time I tasted blood and it was so entising. I opened my mouth and sunk my fangs in the bloody rag and sucked the rugs lovely juices. I moaned in pleasure. I felt myself grow stronger and my senses were more adept. The rush was so incredible. I continued to suck on the rag in a frenzy until it was bone dry.I needed more so badly. I could feel my pupils expand urning for more.

"Hey Bryan can you help me with the bandages?" I heard Amy say this from the living room and this broke my trance. I looked at the rag. It was dry with two fang marks. I stuffed it in my pocket. "Bryan?" Amy asked for me again.

"I'm coming." I entered the living room and Amy had the bandage ready. "Can you not do it yourself?" I teased and sat by her on the couch and started wrapping the bandage around her hand. I barely could restrain myself from draining her by her hand.

"Thanks bud." She felt her hand and leaned back in the couch. "When are my parents getting home?"

I looked at the clock it was on 7:30. I guessed that no matter where you are it's always dark by 7 in January. What a stupid observation I made then. Immortality is a cure for such stupidity. "They won't be back for about two hours."

"Hmm..." She thought for a moment. "If I invite someone over you're not going to tell on me will you?"

"Of course not. Just don't tell on me for my age."

"Deal." She reached to shake my hand and I shook it. She then ran to the phone and called whoever. I didn't really care, I felt amazing from my meal I had moments ago.

Within ten minutes I heard a knock on the door and Amy was running to answer the door so I ran to beat her.

"You ass." She teased me from beating her to the door.

I opened the door to see a monster of a man. My guess he was 6ft 9in and roughly 300lbs of muscle. Obviously the pinicle of Hitler's arian race. His initial toughness was only amplified by his football jacket and blue, snow covered, corvette in our driveway.

"Hey Jason!" Amy jumped up and kissed him. "Missed you."

"I missed you to babe." He returned the kiss. "Who's this guy?" He tried to give me some jocky, intimidating look but it didn't really get to me. I was still in a high from the rag.

"Yeah, I'm Bryan." I reached out my hand but he snubbed me off and just kissed Amy again.

"Wanna show me your room babe?" Jason was pretty obvious in his intentions. Amy didn't tell me but this must have been her boyfriend. She didn't even answer and he carried her upstairs to her room... "Piece of shit." I said as they went into her room upstairs.
