: chapter two

and we almost,

we almost knew what love was.

Millie started off the first days of the challenge as a joke. If she handled it casually, she figured that the challenge won't be as hard as she thinks it would be.

Like on the second day, the morning after she took the mission, Millie was thankful that she often wakes up a little earlier than her cast mates.

So as she was eating her cereal and scrolling through her Instagram feed, she looks up her gaze and found sight of Finn groggily walking out of his dorm room.

Millie watched as Finn rubbed his still closed eyes. He had his band's merch, Calpurnia, on and banana designed pajamas, his mane of curls were a disaster and his rosy morning cheeks were extra evident because of his pale skin. Millie almost giggled at the sight.

Millie swallows her cereal and grinned, "I love you, Finn!" she intentionally screamed.

The half-awake Finn practically stumbled on his way to the kitchen by the sudden yelling of the girl.

When Finn could finally open his eyes, Millie makes eye contact with his death glares that made him look way more ridiculous than intimidating to Millie than he already was.

Millie didn't have a slight of regret. Instead she films her current sight and posts it on her Instagram story, laughing with now tears in her eyes and excited to narrate about what happened with her cast mates so she won't be teasing him alone. But sadly, nice things never last, for Millie at least.

It was the thirteenth day when the awkwardness started.

The promotion for Stranger Things took over their schedule more often, it's the third season of the show and it's only getting bigger and bigger but of course they still seek for larger audiences and exposure because the show is obviously the reason why they are able to express their passion and show it to the whole world.

The cast is currently on their way for an interview. They're squeezed altogether in a van but it won't stop the British girl from doing an Instagram live, one of the things she always loved doing especially with her best friend Noah because she could interact with the fans this way and give them some content while they wait for a new season.

"Hi guys!" she waves at her phone screen. She waits for the viewers to increase first before showing the other cast to the camera.

"Say hi, guys!"

"Hi!"

"What's up?!"

"Hello world, watch Stranger Things season three coming soon," Gaten practically rapped while saying it. The van filled with laughter.

Millie as usual answered the fan's questions as much as she could. Mostly the questions are about season three and when will it come out, her relationship with the cast, her private life, some requested songs for her to cover.

Millie was currently singing along to a song playing on the radio, when suddenly her eyes landed on a particular question.

"how's the challenge with finn going??? OMG FILLIE!!!"

Millie felt a lump in her throat.

Should I answer? How will the fans react? How will Finn react when I answer the question? How will-

"How's the challenge with Finn going?" Millie finds herself reading the question aloud.

Noah's face appeared on the screen, "yeah, Millster! How's the challenge going?" he wiggles his eyebrows and pokes the older's tummy teasingly.

The rest of the cast crowded Millie for information as well, the rest except for him.

Him who has his headphones on and busy looking out at the car window. Millie wonders if he's secretly eavesdropping, but she notices him softly humming whatever he's listening to so he's probably unaware about anything that's happening.

"It's going really well!" Millie attempted a smile.

"Oh! I have a really funny story while doing the challenge," she genuinely laughed at the memory of him stumbling on the floor that morning. She shares the story to the fans just because she loved making fun of the boy. Like that time in season two when Finn whispered 'I'm coming in' before leaning in and kissing her. Millie would never forget that, she always had the best and memorable times with him on set. She can't help but miss them.

In the middle of sharing the memory, something came into her mind, "-wait guys, I realized I still haven't said I love you to Finn today," she adjusts and puts her phone down and reaches for Finn, who's at the opposite side of the van.

Millie poked his shoulder as Finn finally looked at their direction and processed what was going on.

He presses the pause button and rests his headphones around his neck, "what?" he mutters cluelessly.

"I love you, Finn."

And then silence.

Millie noticed Finn's eyes widen in shock. It's been thirteen days, what is he still so stunned about?

Still silence. Millie attempted to keep her smile. Someone say something, anything.

And then she feels Noah grab her phone from her hand. Noah faces the screen, "did you hear that?! Our Millster's all grown up!" the cast joins with teasing the girl.

And then that's when she realized that the earlier silence only lasted for a second. Why the hell did it feel so long?

"Shut up!" was all she could manage to say.

Millie removed her gaze from her over energetic friends and darts her eyes back at his.

Millie decides to give him a soft smile. Finn looks away.

He put his headphones back on but didn't press the play button.

Weird.

Millie suddenly didn't feel like talking for the rest of the ride so she let the others take over her live.

She looked out at the car window and sighed.
