Since the day Millie almost forgot about the mission happened, she thought about setting an alarm every day so she would constantly be reminded about it, but she figured that it would ruin the whole point of the challenge in her mind. She liked the feeling of suddenly being reminded about it herself.

And besides, the way it happens so randomly, there was something about it that pleases Millie. Sure, their interaction only lasts for a second and everyone knows it's just a requirement, but Millie loved it when she feels like it's only her and him who knows, for just a moment. Almost a secret, almost real.

On day forty-fifth, almost halfway through the challenge, Millie woke up hearing a loud cheering from the living room. She got up to know what it was as she finds sight of the cast all huddled in a circle.

"We're so proud of you, Finn!" Millie heard Caleb say.

Finn couldn't stop smiling.

It was a relief and a nice thing to see after somewhat a long time.

"What's going on, guys?" Millie approaches.

The cast brought their attentions to the clueless girl, "Calpurnia's performing in an entire arena for the very first time!" Noah chirps.

"That's great news, Finn!" she beams genuinely.

"Thanks," Finn blushes, nervously playing with the tip of his ear, overwhelmed.

"Here," Sadie hands Millie a ticket, "Finn already reserved free tickets for all of us at the front row," the rest of the cast waved their own tickets cheerfully.

Before Millie could react, Finn already cut in, "it's no problem if you don't come. I-I'll understand," he affirms carefully.

"What makes you think I wouldn't come?" Millie chuckles.

"You never do," he replies unassertively.

And then it hits her.

He was right, Millie did never come to any of his shows.

Whenever Finn tried to invite her to go to their concerts in the past, Jacob was always around and would answer for her. It's either he'd excuse that they have a date at the same day or Millie has something important to do. Finn thought everything was just a fucked up coincidence. But it was all really just fucked up lies.
