Chapter 7: Fight! Fight! Fight!
Before the last bell rings, I check the bulletin board to see if the dance tryout results are up. It didn't take long to find it among the many other flyers. On the center of the board was a pink paper that displayed "Raven Tryouts" on the top in glitter. I run my finger down the list until I stop at my name. I got in. I don't know how to feel. Should I be upset or happy? This just means I gonna have to see Madison way more than I have to. At least my mom will get off my back. I start heading out towards the parking lot.
"Andi!" I stop at the exit at the sound of my name. I turn around and see Carmen jogging towards me, a bright smile framing her face. The smack of her navy blue Converse against the marble floor echoed down the hallway as she rushed to reach me. Her curly hair sways from side to side from the force of her running. She's holding two AP textbooks and her backpack. I smile back at her and wait for her to catch up.
"What's up?" We continue to walk towards my car.
"I heard Grayson and Theo are having a Halloween party tonight. You going?" She gasps out, still breathing a bit hard from the running.
"Well since it's at my house, I don't really have a choice. I'm not even gonna bother to wear a costume." We stop at my car and I lean against it.
"I get what you're saying, my cousin Blair is always throwing these wild parties when she comes over. I usually stay in my room and watch TV." This makes me laugh because it reminds me so much of Zoey and I. Maybe Carmen might be the perfect addition to our duo. She seems like she'd fit right in.
"Well are you coming?" I ask. She shrugs her shoulders.
"I don't usually go to these parties. Most of the people there are not the kind of people I like to be around." She murmurs.
"You should come, I can introduce you to Zoey. She's not a huge fan of parties either so we plan on just sneaking up to my room and chilling." Carmen looks at me a little skeptical as she makes her decision. "Please?" I drag out and she sighs nodding.
"Fine, I'll come." She agrees. I smile and then clap my hands excitedly.
"Yes, thank you! Oh and by the way, I got on the dance team." I tell her. She perks up and her bright smile returns.
"Oh my gosh, congrats Andi! This is so perfect!" I laugh at her excitement.
"I guess so. Hey, I have to go pick up Zoey so I'll see you later, ok?" She nods and gives me a quick hug before walking off. I get in my car and drive off to Zoey's house. I think Grayson is inviting one of his many groupies over. I didn't bother to ask for her name because I'm hoping I won't have to see anyone.
Zoey and I pull up to the front of the private neighborhood where I live and I put in the code so the gates can open. The whole time Zoey's jaw is on the ground. I laugh mentally because this was exactly how I was when I first saw the mansion. I marvelled at how gorgeous and grand it was, but now I'm slowly starting to get used to it.
"Wow, this place really is a mansion," Zoey states still admiring the architecture. The house isn't as big as a mansion but it definitely is huge.
"Wait till you see the inside." We walk inside and we immediately notice the unfamiliar face of a girl in my living room. I watch as she continues setting out some cups and plates on the table. She's small but she has a nice figure. She's wearing a sexy cat costume. She has smooth mocha skin and dark brown hair that's lays completely straight in a high ponytail. She's actually really pretty. When she finally notices us hovering near the door she smiles and I notice how completely straight and white her teeth are.
