Harry's P.O.V.
I haven't seen or talked to Madeline in about 3 months. I haven't heard anything about her besides the rumors that she was in rehab. Liam doesn't hang around me much and when I try to talk to him he ignores me.
I know this wasn't my fault, she was hurting herself but part of me feels guilty. Like I started the snowball and watched it get bigger ruining everything in its path.
I felt empty for a while before realizing how truly bad for me she was. I honestly hope she was getting help. Real help that will make her better. Make her the old her.
"Harry are you listening?" I was pulled out of my mind by Niall's voice.
"Huh?" I questioned, coming back into focus with the real world.
"Apparently Madeline's back in school. Someone saw her come in with Liam." Niall said, as we walked down the hallway. I had made it all the way to last period and I'm just now hearing it.
We'd only been in school for a month so it wasn't that crazy of a thing to hear.
I didn't really feel anything. Excitement, nervousness. Nothing.
We left on the worst terms. She slapped me and I told her to rot. I wasn't exactly sure if I meant it. Even after everything she did.
Out of all the girls I've been with Madeline stuck out like a sore thumb, in the best way possible. To avoid sounding cliche, she was different. Different from the rest of the girls. She kept me excited, ready for the next thing. She pushed my buttons and loved me with everything in her. I know she did. She did from the moment we met and it took me too long to realize. It took her destroying herself for me to see.
"You okay, mate?" Niall questioned placing his hand on my shoulder.
"I honestly don't really care. I'm over her. She's someone else's problem now." I told him and shrugged him off me. "Let's just get to practice before we have to run laps." I huffed, walking into the locker room. I needed to keep my distance. For my sake and hers.
We quickly changed and made our way to the soccer field where everyone else was warming up.
We were half way through practice when cheering and singing came from the other side of the field. "Eye candy." Nathan grinned, oogling over the cheerleaders. I felt my heart rate spike, I didn't mind watching some hot girls in short skirts do cart wheels. I leaned onto Nialls shoulder as soccer practice quickly turned into a bunch of horny teenagers staring at hot girls. Soccer the last thing on our minds.
"No fucking way." I chuckled as I noticed Madeline in the line up. She looked different. Her frame was no longer skin and bones, she actually looked healthy. And her hair was back to it's natural color, just falling on her shoulders. She looked like she did when I met her for the first time.
No, she looked better. Her body looked full and so did her face, in the best way possible.
I stood there with my jaw practically on the ground and if this all wasn't shocking enough I watched as Liam walked up to her and embraced her in a huge hug. That fucking bastard.
I knew it. I knew he had a thing for her. All along he was just waiting for Madeline and I to be completely done. I was going to kick his fucking ass.
I felt my blood boil as I stormed across the field, making a beeline for the two of them. "Are you happy now?" I shouted, Liam and Madeline pulling away from each other. "Is this what you wanted all along?" I walked up to Liam shoving him two steps back.
