The Hidden

Chapter six

I went inside the house , I was welcomed with a beautiful smile coming from a woman who seems average height.

"Hello , I'm Mrs Hunter and you are? " she asked , bringing her hand forward to shake me

"I'm Mia , nice to meet you" I smiled shaking her.

She smiled too but not for too long "So who are you here to see , I'm sure it is not my son" saying the last part with a half smile.

That made me laugh "No , I'm here to see Mr Hunter"

She was shocked "ohh , my husband , well just go down and turn left you will see an office , he's in there".

" Thanks" I replied.

I followed the direction I was given and truly there was an office so I knocked on the door and I hear a voice that says I should come in.

I opened the door and entered. He is a handsome man now I know where his son got his beauty from.

He stared at me blankly , so I tried to talk even though I was intimidated badly.

"Won't you tell me to have a seat" I said

He continued staring until he faced his papers and said "do I know you? "

"Well I think so" I replied.

Then he faced me smiling, it was more of an evil grin "do I look like a joker to you, who let you in , if you want something say it and get out".

He resumed looking at his papers , I won't stop till I know where my father is " I'm Mia Richardson , your best friend's daughter".

He looked up to me and his face softened "ohh i didn't know , wow you have really grown"

I have no time to waste so i replied ignoring his statement "where is my father? "

He gave me the confused look and said "my dear he's dead"

"Why are you lying , my dad can't die like that".

" he's dead, now get out" he said.

I was surprised "how can my dad choose you as his best friend , you are heartless"

He faced me with a sad look "you don't understand just leave"

I stood up and ran out of the house, i didn't realise the tears i was holding back there , i started crying.

I was disturbed by the vibration of my phone , i checked it just to see an unknown number calling.

I stopped sobbing and picked the call. I tried my best to stop "hello, who's this ? "

"This is Freddy , you sound somehow are you okay , I'm sure my dad did something hurtful"

I didn't know how to reply him "where are you? " i asked.

"Well I'm at my friend's place, I'll send you the address" he replied.

"Thanks, i will be right there" i cut the call and waited for him to send the address.

I received the message immediately and i went there.

It was a nice house , i knocked and it was opened immediately as if i was being watched.

When i saw Freddy i jumped into his arms sobbing , he was taken back with surprise but immediately he hugged me back.

He started stroking my back which made me stop crying he took me to the couch and carried my face up so i can face him.

He used his thumbs to cleans the tears on my face , his hands are so soft and smooth.

"Are you okay? " he asked.

Do i look okay?  "I'm fine now " i replied.

"I'm sorry for whatsoever my father did" he said with a concerned look.

I smiled and when i looked around i saw guys that i didn't notice when i entered , Asher was one of them and two other guys. One was cute i assumed him to be Mason and the second was Fredd..

Wait a minute how did Freddy get there but when i look infront of me  he was there beside i looked at Freddy and the guy that looks like him a lot.

And everybody started laughing including Freddy. I was getting annoyed "is this a joke or what? "

Then Freddy stopped laughing but still had a small smile stuck on his face as he talked "calm down , he's my twin brother"

I was so confused "but when i was at your house no one did as if you had a brother even your mum"

Then the twin said "ohh so mum has forgotten about me , not a surprise"

Freddy faced him and said "i don't think so , it's just our fucked up dad brain washing her"

Someone pls talk to me, well the other guy that i think is mason said "well I'm Mason , they are twins but why Freddo is not staying with Freddy because he chose not to".

Freddo said " yeah that's right i can't stay in a house with a devil that calls himself my father , so I'm staying with Mason here".

"Do they know you stay here? " i asked.

To my surprise Asher replied "No they think he's dead sometimes if Freddy wants to leave the house , Freddo covers for him".

I was amused , " wow but I'm sure your mum hasn't forgotten about you Freddo"

He smiled "i like her already" ,  "me too" mason said .

I hear Asher scoff but i didn't care.
We all talked,  laughed , knew each other and i felt so happy.

When i got home , i didn't see my mum, I'm sure she's at work so i checked my phone and saw so many text messages from Mitchelle.

Mitchelle 💯: hey
                         What is up bestie?
                          Any information?
                          You have not been      
                           replying me for the past
                           few days , did i offend you

I was so surprised it has been long i spoke to Mitchelle.

Me: hey, I'm so sorry I've been busy, we will talk on monday in school , i need to rest bye💜💜.

Wow today was mind blowing, my Father's so called best friend is really heartless , how come they are friends , i will get to the bottom of that.

And Freddy is a twin? Wow he's so nice , he's nothing like his father, I can't believe I hugged him , I'm never emotional , this town has broken me a lot. I went to bed thinking of how I'm dying slowly.
