"Where were you last night?" the person asked. I ignored the question so as to switch on the lights and i figured out it was my stupid father.
I roll my eyes at his figure, "oh, so now you think I'm your responsibility? Well you are wrong. Out of my room Jacob."
He nods cautiously, "i understand but i was worried, your mum said you were at work."
"Yes Jacob,i was at work now leave." i point to the door. Why can't he understand that i hate him. If he keeps on disturbing I'll kill him.
He sags his shoulders and leaves. I let out a breath that i didn't know i was holding. I checked the time it was 7:00 am.
I dialed Mia's number to see how she's doing. It rings then she answers the call
Me: hello sis, sorry about yesterday i was really busy, how are you feeling?
I hear her sigh.
Mia: I'm going through a lot, i just ruined someone's friendship, i feel so guilty.
I didn't know what to do. I want to meet her but Lucas... Wow
Mia: hello, are u still there?
I chuckle.
Me:Yes dear, can we see by 6 ?
She kept silent. Maybe thinking.
Mia: that's kind of late.
Me :i know but I'm meeting someone by 4.
She surprises me with her next question.
Mia: can't you cancel? Or is it more important?
She was right it's just a talk with Lucas, i have to cancel.
Me: I'll cancel dear, see you at our usual by 4,bye love you.
By the sound of her voice i knew she was happy.
Mia: thank you so much, you are the best.
I just smiled and cut the call.
Well i have to tell Lucas so i sent him a text saying that i can't make it and trust me i told him the reasons.
Immediately i received a text from him saying that 6 will be okay and i was happy so i just gave him a thumbs up and put my phone in my pocket.
I was starving. I go downstairs to check what my mum has cooked. I love my mum so much but I'm angry at her. Why did she accept dad back after everything?
"honey, how was the night shift?" she asked smiling.
I returned the smile. She's always happy, this is real life, when will she get to know that?
"well mum it wasn't easy, I'm starving." i sit on the stool beside her in the kitchen.
She thinks i work as a receptionist in a hotel. I can't tell her that I'm part of a gang. That'll be crazy and it's way easy to trick my mum because she doesn't know reality that's why Jacob was able to trick her.
She ruffles my hair, "grab a plate honey breakfast is ready."
I roll my eyes at her action and straighten my hair. I go on to grab a plate as she instructed.
She made a delicious breakfast and i don't even know the name.
"this food is delicious." a voice said from beside my mum on the dining table and i knew it was Jacob because I'm the only child.
She smiled, "thanks dear I'm a great cook."
I was starting to get irritated by their actions it's driving me nuts.
Jacob starts to feed my mum, that i couldn't take. I drop my cutlery and leave for my room.
I hear my mum shout my name but i ignored her.
I opened my door and slammed it hard for them to hear. They irritate me so much.
I sigh and plop on my bed. I start to feel my phone vibrate and i check and see that my best friend was calling.
I pick it up.
Me: hey James.
James : hello? You sound sick, what's wrong?
I sigh.
Me:I'll be at your place soon, don't worry.
