I was sat at Rosie's Diner with Jess and Hannah. I had told Jess about my run-in with Montgomery today and Hannah was currently telling her about her theory.

"There is no other explanation as to why he's suddenly taking up for her or whatever he was doing. He's had to have seen her and Tyler talking before and he has never tried to stop it until now." Hannah said as Jess looked deep in thought.

"I'll ask Justin if he knows anything about it." She said, taking a drink of her milkshake.

"I don't think he likes me, he's just, being weird?" I said, unsure of myself.

"But he could like you! Maybe you're just not picking up on it, but I am." Hannah stated as I rolled my eyes at her.

"I don't know, it seems fishy," Jess said, a look of doubt on her face.

Damn right it does.

Bryce, Marcus and Montgomery were sitting around the pool house, discussing the bet. Justin and Alex had been staying away for a while, not wanting to be involved.

"I don't think I can do this Bryce, man, she's such a fucking bitch. I tried to get Tyler Down to leave her alone today and she told me off for it."

"You just need to figure her out," Bryce shrugged, a smug look resting on his face as always.

"Hey, she may be a bitch, but she's a hot bitch." Marcus pointed, a humorous look on his face.

"Yeah, she's hot. Just pretend you like her. It can't be hard to at least pretend you think she's pretty," Bryce said, patting him on the shoulder.

Monty sighed before nodding.

"I'll keep trying."

The next day as I was headed to my locker Jess approached me.

"I talked to Justin. He said he doesn't know what Monty is playing at, he said just be careful."

"Duly noted." I said.

I reached my locker, opening it and exchanging books.

"I got to go, but I'll see you in English yeah?" Jess said as she started walking away.

"Yep," I said not looking away from my locker.

"Don't forget, Monet's after school."

I looked up to see Tyler walking by me with a playful pointed look.

"I'll be there," I smiled, shutting my locker and heading in the direction of my Algebra class.

My first two classes were pretty uneventful. Third was when it got a little odd.

I was sitting in biology, a class I share with Justin and Montgomery, feeling eyes drilling holes through me. I looked around the room and found Montgomery staring at me. He didn't even bother looking away after being caught. I turned back in my seat, shifting awkwardly.
