I was now in communications class. I took my seat at the grouped tables with Alex and Ryan.

"So, you and Monty?" Alex questioned as I sat.

"What about me and Monty?" I asked.

"Wait you and Monty? Did I miss something?" Ryan spoke before Alex could reply.

"He's been being nice to me lately. We even went to Rosie's together," I said shrugging my shoulders.

I looked up at them as I was rummaging through my bag for a pencil.

"As friends!" I exclaimed when I saw the looks they were giving me.

"Friends don't go to diners alone just to talk. That's called a date." Ryan said matter-of-factly.

"It wasn't a date! We just talked, the night was ruined anyways."

"How?" Ryan asked, Alex seemingly lost interest.

"Monty kind of blew up on me after I asked him something but I forgave him this morning."

"Which everyone saw at lunch." Alex pointed out.

"It's not like that," I said looking at him with disbelief.

"You say that now, but we all see where this is going," Ryan said sassily as the late bell rang and class officially started.

On my way to English, after Communications, a very skippy Jessica bumped into me.

"I heard Memmy is back on!" She exclaimed as I shushed her.

"Shut up, we're just friends," I chuckled lightly shoving her.

"You're just friends for now, but eventually, in the near future, you two are gonna be a thing." She said giving me a playful pointed look.

"Why is everyone saying that?" I laughed.

"Because it's so true and so obvious," Jess said in a duh tone.

"Yeah okay," I said rolling my eyes playfully as a smile made its way to my face.

"So, like, are you going on another date with him, or?"

"Oh my, Jess it wasn't a date! Besides that was a one time thing," I said as we entered English.

"If you say so Em," Jess said as she sat down beside me.

"I do say so," I said sassily as I flipped my hair dramatically.

Jess just looked at me for a moment before we burst into laughter.

Later that day as I was going through my locker, Monty walked up to me.

"Hey, what are you doing tonight?" He asked, leaning against the locker next to mine.

"Justin is coming over tonight. We're gonna work on our presentation for bio," I said, not looking away from my locker.
