The rest of the week was pretty boring, I went to school, talked to my friends, was poked and prodded by Monty, avoided Jeff, and worked on my project with Justin.
It was now Friday and I was currently sitting in History waiting for the bell to ring. We were just watching some video so there was no reason to have anything out.
I was anxious for this weekend. I was going to my dad's new apartment for the first time since he and my mom separated. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad and we have always had a good relationship, and have spent plenty of father-daughter alone time together. Usually though, my mom would always come home and join us in whatever we were doing, whether it be us attempting to make some food, or watching a Disney movie together. This time, there would be no mom joining us. Just he and I.
I was shaking my leg impatiently as I counted down the last seconds in my head.
The bell rang and I jumped up out of my seat, slinging my bag over my shoulder. I was walking to my locker when I felt a pressure in my side causing me to squeal. I turned around to face Monty walking behind me.
Over the past few days Monty and I have been talking and texting more during school and outside of school. We've grown kind of close, he's actually not that hard to get along with once you get to know him a little bit.
"Hey," he said smiling.
"Hey," I said smiling back.
"Are you sure you can't cancel with your dad?" He asked for the millionth time this week.
He has been begging me all week to just reschedule going to my dad's so I can spend the weekend with him. It's cutely annoying.
"No Mon, I told you, I promised my dad I'd spend the weekend with him. I'm not really big on breaking promises." I said as we descended the stairs.
"Technically it's not breaking it, you still plan to go see him, just, not this weekend," Monty said shrugging, looking at me with a playful pleading look.
"Okay, but technically it is breaking it because I promised to go this weekend," I said giving him a playful pointed look.
"Come on, you could have so much more fun with me," he said nudging my shoulder.
I said nothing as I looked at him with a raised brow.
"N-not like that! That's not what I meant!" He exclaimed quickly, eyes widening as he realized what he said. "Unless of course-"
"Oh my god! No!" I exclaimed looking at him with disbelief as he smirked at me.
I looked away from him as we finally reached my locker before saying,"As much as I would love to spend the weekend with you, I can't. I made a promise and I intend to keep it."
Monty leaned against the locker to my left and pouted at my statement.
"Ugh, okay, how about I promise you that the next time I'm free we will spend a whole day together?" I said opening my locker.
"That would be great," he said, his face lighting up.
"Okay, then I promise you that the next time I'm free I will spend an entire day with you," I said smiling at him as I extended my pinky out to him.
He chuckled before curling his pinky around my own.
"Sounds like a plan," he smiled back, biting his lip.
I finished exchanging books in my locker, not really needing much 'cause I never have a lot of homework on the weekends, and started walking to the exit with Monty.
