Chapter 15 - The Old Flame

Keeley's POV

This is impossible. This isn't happening right now.

The man whom I used to be mated with, the one who went missing for decades, the one who broke my heart into a million pieces is standing right in front of me.

"You're Leo?" Hunter asked shyly.

"Yes dear." Leo said shooting a smile her way.

He looked at me once again with his soft brown eyes that used to make me melt, but now a pair of hazel ones are the only ones capable of that.

"Keeley." Leo said looking at me.

"Why are you here?" I ask demanding an answer.

"I'm here on business." Leo said.

"Business?" Spencer asked finally stepping in.

"Yes. I am here on behalf to rescue one of my kind." He said knowingly.

"One of your kind?" Piper asked with a confused tone.

"Yes. Hunter here is a Draca. I came to save her." Leo said with pride.

"Save her?!" Spencer, Liam, and Hunter yelled all at once.

"Well yes. Hunter here is in mortal danger." Leo says.

Damn this girl never gets a break.

Hunter's POV

Danger?!? What. The. Fudge.

"I'm in danger? From what?" I ask impatiently.

"It's not a what but a whom." Keeley's old mate spoke to me.

"Who would want to hurt me?" I ask.

"Dave Monroe." Leo said with a scared voice as if this man was gonna pop out at any second.

"And who is he?" Liam said with anger laced in his voice.

"Awe I'm guessing the first mate?" Leo said with a smile etched on his face.

"The first and the only." Liam replies.

"That's what I once thought. But things don't always go as planned." Leo says sneaking a noticeable glance at Keeley. Luke suddenly wraps his arms around her possessively.

"Did you ever find her?" Keeley asked without looking at Leo.

"Who my dear?" Leo asked as if he already knew her answer.

"You're second mate.." Keeley replies with sadness in her voice. I feel so bad for her. She must feel really lost right now.

"No. I never did. This is also the first time I've been free since our last night together." Leo said his British voice thick with pain.

"What do you mean free?" Asked Dallas.

"I was kept hostage for decades." Leo says shocking us all.

"By who?" Spencer asked finally breaking the silent man he's been for a while.

"The same man that's after Hunter." He replies shooting me a sad smile.

"Why does he want me?" I ask slowly. Not even wanting to know the answer.

"To kill you darling." Leo says emotionless.

I never get a break do I?

Leo's POV

It's really Keeley.

Wow she's stunning. But I can no longer feel the sparks between us. Our mate bond is really gone, and I'll never get it back.

Now Hunter has really captured my attention. She looks nothing like I expected.

She's a little thicker but it's very very attractive. With her brown highlighted hair that went down to her mid back, her deep muddy brown eyes, and her attitude. I couldn't have found this girl any hotter. But none the less she is not my mate.

I'm never going to find her.

Once I finally escaped Dave's cell I had to rescue the only other one of my kind that I knew of. Once Dave knew another Draca lived he had to find her. He mentioned her last name countless times, so that's all I knew. I'm just so disappointed I couldn't save her mother, and her dad's hanging by a lifeline.

I won't let what happened to me, happen to her. I feel almost protective of her, yet this is our first ever meeting.

I don't get it.

"Hunter I've come to take you somewhere safe." I say strongly.

"No." The blonde haired boy said. Funny he's not her mate yet he seems very attached to Hunter. He's been starring daggers at Hunter's mate since I arrived. Very interesting.

"I must. I know what it's like being in Dave's hands and I won't let him take her." I say angrily.

"She's safest with us." The boy with the blue eyes says.

There is no way I'm convincing her to leave with me. And there's no way these guys will let me live if I tried.

"Fine but I'm staying then." I say leaving no room for discussion.

"Alright." Hunter says giving me a smile. Her and I are gonna be great friends I can tell.

"But first I must know all your names." I say with a smile.

"I'm Spencer, leader of the pack." The boy with the blonde hair and green eyes says. Even more interesting. I've gotta get to know this guy.

"I'm Dallas." The tanned one with blue eyes says. He seems very cocky. We'll get along fine.

"I'm Zack." The black one says. He stayed pretty quiet during my visit. I hope to open this kid up a bit.

"I'm Avery." The tall blonde says shooting me a flirty smile. Gosh slut was written all over this girl. Yet she is standing next to Zack and he put his arm around her. I didn't see that coming.

"I'm Piper." The dark skinned girl says to me. She's very beautiful and has killer legs and a stunning smile. But I can see she's Dallas's mate just by the way he looks at her and her at him. Very cute I might add. I wish I had that.

"I'm Luke." Keeley's mate steps up. I examine him. Short black hair, hazel eyes, an inch shorter than me. Not bad. I hope he treats her right. But by the way he adoringly looks at her I can tell he does. Good, she deserves to be happy.

"And I'm Liam." Hunters mate introduces himself. I hope he doesn't really invest himself in her. They won't last forever. Eventually she's turn vampire. It'll break his heart. Just like it broke mine, and Keeley's.

This doesn't seem like a bad group of vamps.

I might even get to like them.

Key word. Might.
