Spencer's POV

This sucks.

Ever since Hunter's parents have passed, all I've wanted to do was run up to her and just hold her while she cried. I wanted to be the person she fell asleep next to, even the person who kissed away all her tears.

But no.

Instead her stupid "mate" was the one who held her while she cried, helped her pack her stuff, got to sleep next to her. Even Leo got to comfort her.

I got interrupted by my internal jealousy when Leo walked down from Hunter's room.

"How is she?" Liam asked immediately, beating me to the punch.

"Not good, but she really just needed rest." He replied with sorrow in his eyes. Why does this guy seem so attached to Hunter? He better not like her.

"Gosh I wish we knew what to do." Keeley said while sighing.

"I know, it's been so long since most of us lost our parents, half of us don't even know our parents." Dallas spoke up.

Our Hunter pity party ended when we heard screams coming from said girls' room.

I ran up the stairs quicker than I ever have before. I bust open her door to see Hunter crying and wiggling in her sleep. One explanation.

Nightmare.

I began walking to her when I saw Liam move to do the same. It took everything within me to stop and let him move towards her.

"Baby. Wake up" Liam spoke softly to her while shaking her. She woke slowly.

"Spenc.. Liam?" Hunter spoke groggily. No one missed her almost mistake of name. Liam's jaw dropped but he soon recovered.

"Yeah love it's me Liam." He spoke with no anger laced in his voice.

"We'll leave you guys alone." Piper said with an awkward smile. Every one slowly started exiting the room. Leaving me last with the mated pair.

"Spencer, you coming?" Luke asked. I nodded turning on my heal, only looking back once to see Hunter looking at me with sadness clear in her beautiful brown eyes. I left with my head high and my heart heavy.

I repeat. This sucks.

The nightmares haven't stopped.

She's been having them for the past 4 nights. And every night my heart breaks hearing her screams. Everyone has been feeling down for days now. Liam cries every time he returns from waking her up then lulling her back to sleep. No one speaks. No one laughs. It's...depressing.

I was broken from my thoughts when for the 5th night we hear her screams. We're all sitting in the living room. Liam stepped out to get some supplies from his apartment. So the question was, who's gonna wake Hunter up?

"Spencer should go." Avery said seriously. No one argued. They all looked at me.

Shit.

I stood up slowly and made my way to her room. I walked in and saw her thrashing in her sheets. I gulped. I walked to her bed and sat next to her.

"Hunter wake up." I whispered. Another scream.

"Please Hunter wake up." I begged her. More thrashing.
