"yoongi?"

"yeah?"

"i found a box with hoseok written on it,"

shit. shit. shit. shit.

"u-uh, y-yeah?"

"it's filled with all this junk, like his old jacket, a broken camera and some photo albums. i mean like i live pretty close to him now, do you want me to give these to him?"

yoongi breathed a sigh of relief and stood up and poked his head out the doorway, where he could see namjoon holding a box filled with the old knick-knacks hoseok left behind.

"i mean, i don't have to if you don't want me to, but i just thought tha-"

"yeah. yeah namjoon, could you deliver those to hoseok? please?"

namjoon looked surprised, but did a good job disguising it as he nodded. he disappeared again to put the box on the coffee table. meanwhile, yoongi sighed as he slumped back into his seat.

he wasn't sad or anything, he felt good, oddly redeeming. he was letting a piece of hoseok go. he knew he would never get hoseok back, he had to accept it. and he would have to let hoseok go, piece by piece, memory by memory. yoongi looked at the finished song, sighing.

"i really wished we could have done better," his eyes drifted to a picture on the top shelf, one he had either forgotten or didn't want to take down. a picture of him and hoseok on their last date. "i wish i could have done better for you."

"you did." namjoon's voice sounded, stopping yoongi's train of thought. "you did your best. but life isn't always as smooth as we wish for it to be." he places a hand on yoongi's shoulder. "there will be hardships and problems, but the most important thing is to get up again." namjoon's eyes go up to look at the picture too. "and if it's fate, you two will get back up again. together."

there is a moment of silence, which is abruptly ended by the sound of the doorbell.

"that must be jin, let's go hyung."

yoongi nods but takes a last glance at the picture.

then i pray for it to be fate.
