the dinner went along splendidly. jokes were told, old stories were brought up, tears were shed, memories were made. for the first time in ages, yoongi's manor of sadness regained the spark of a home again. starting from a small flicker of hope by namjoon, who had reached out to the elder, and like a domino effect, like a fire beginning to burn after passing a time of fragile little flames, everything had gone according to plan, better even, and yoongi was returning.

it turns out there were still other gifts from the five friends. each person took out a framed photo.

jungkook had found a picture of yoongi as a child, his hands being held by his mother and father. taehyung held a photo of yoongi during his elementary school graduation, playing the piano. jimin had framed a photo of yoongi in middle school, a friend's arm draped over his shoulder. namjoon produced a neatly wrapped picture of yoongi during his highschool trip to america, the grand canyon behind him as he squinted to look at the camera along with all his other friends from his class.

now, jin's picture was the most special. it was a picture of all of them. all seven of them. the rest were a bit skeptical about the picture. but jin had said that they were seven, it wasn't them if one were missing, and yoongi would have to accept that. jin had handed him the photo. it was of them at the han river during the spring season, two years ago.

"memories. to remind you that not everything's cold. to warm you up during your winters. to help you sleep on sleepless nights. to be the reassuring whispers when all those bad voices are screaming at you." jin said. "memories to remind you, that you are min yoongi."

"you guys-" yoongi started as he held the photos in his arms. he started to laugh. "you guys are gonna make me cry again." he looked up at them, tears already streaming down his face. they hugged him.

they stayed a bit longer to help yoongi put up the pictures all over the house. jungkook was the first to leave, his grandmother had just come over from busan. taehyung was next, yeontan had made a mess at his friend's house. jimin, jin and namjoon stayed for quite a long time. yoongi had started playing the piano again, singing childhood songs that his mother used to sing him.

namjoon had taken a turn to play a song on the piano, telling them that he found the keys to a song from a cartoon tv show that once was his favorite.

come along with me
with the butterflies and bees
we can wonder through the forest
and do so as we please
come along with me
to a cliff under a tree
where we can gaze upon the water
as an everlasting dream
all of my collections
i'll give them all to you
maybe by next summer
we won't have changed our tunes
come along with me
with the butterflies and bees
we can wander through the forest
and do so as we please
living so merrily

"isn't that from that one tv show? um what was it called? adventure something?" jimin guessed.

"yeah, from the show adventure time, it's ended now." namjoon said, partially sad.

"i heard princess bubblegum and marceline got together in the end?" jin asked. namjoon nodded. jin laughed and pumped his fist. "let's go lesbians!!"

yoongi had only smiled. he knew why namjoon had decided to play that song. he wondered if, by the end of this whole crazy thing, he and hoseok would get back together. the winter was ending, finally, and who knows, by the time summer comes around, he can come back to being sunshine season yoongi. it warmed his heart.

"well i think it's time for us to get going isn't it?" jimin said as he got up after looking at the clock. "it's getting pretty late."

"aw c'mon can't you guys stay a bit longer. it was so fun tonight." yoongi complained.
