The constant mood swings between Luke and I were starting to irritate me; even a blind man could see that something was going on. Either I was storming off, or he was angry at me for an unexplained reason and it made the tension at the house crazy. That's why, as soon as we had gotten inside the car, I confronted him on it.

'Why did you storm off like that, Luke? You're so annoying!'

'I'm annoying? All you wanted to chit chat about was some random guy I've never met!'

'And what's it to you? All I have to hear about 24/7 is the wedding and I'm practically Bev's slave so don't talk to me that way.' I said, with finality in my voice. His expression changed into sorrow and he placed both hands on the wheel and looked straight ahead. I could see the crease between his eyebrows deepen and his voice seemed apologetic.

'I know, I'm sorry. Things are just crazy right now.' He didn't look at me but that statement caused my heartbeat to increase? What did he mean by 'things'? And why was I kind of hoping that it had something to do with Bev? I decided to change the topic, seeing as our argument or whatever the hell it was seemed to be done and dusted.

'Where are we going?'

'Don't wanna go home yet, I'm taking us to my friend's house and you can meet the band.'

'You guys better not be shit or I'm walking home.' I said and I felt the mood lighten considerably when he laughed.

I was really nervous to meet his friends; I mean what if they hated me? It seemed illogical of me to be so stressed about something that wouldn't even matter in 2 weeks time when I would be back in London, but somehow it still gnawed at my stomach. Finally, we stopped at a beautiful house in the suburbs; white painted walls, and so many windows that it almost looked like a hotel. I followed Luke up the stairs and watched him walk in without even knocking.

'Luke! You're so rude, fuck's sake.' He looked back at me with a smirk on his face before holding the door for me. If I thought the outside was beautiful, the inside had me absolutely shocked. It looked like a mansion and I felt so out of place I started fiddling with my hands. I heard a lot of noise coming from upstairs and as we headed up, I realised that even though Luke is happy with Bev, I still want his friends to like me and I'd like to be accepted into aspects of his life.

Walking into the noisy room, I saw 3 heads turn into Luke's direction.

'Luke! Well you're even uglier than the last time I saw you, babe! How's it- wait, Val?' a familiar voice said with what could be taken as a squeak. I looked up to see Ashton's mop of sandy coloured hair and my face broke out into a grin.

'So when you said you had a band, you were talking about this loser?' I laughed loudly and pointed to Luke. The expression on his face seemed shocked and a bit confused but the crinkle on his nose made it seem unbelievably cute to me.

'Uhh, what's going on? You guys know each other?' Luke asked, looking back and forth between Ashton and I. A dark haired muscly guy with a darker complexion was laughing while sitting on the floor, while a pale-skinned guy with green hair was too busy tuning his guitar to even listen to our conversation.

'This is the guy I told you about!' I said, going over to Ashton to give him a quick hug. I know I've only met him once but he seemed like a lovely dude and I wanted to get to know him more.

'The one you want to take to my wedding?'

'You wanted to take me as a date to Luke's wedding?' Ashton asked as I started blushing furiously. Thankfully, he laughed and seemed quite happy with my proposition while Luke was still standing in the doorway of the room, looking at us with an unreadable expression on his face.
