Chapter 4

Chapter 4- Seeing is Believing

I ran up the hill, looking back at Stephan. He was looking past me.

"Stephan! What are you looking at?"

I spun to look up the hill and saw five guys smirking in my direction. Another two guys were huddled around a heap of clothes looking for something.

"Weird." I said to myself quietly. Stephan and Tessa ran up beside me and started to whisper urgently in my ear.

"Blue these guys don't look safe." Tessa said clutching onto my arm.

"Let's get Audrey and Charlie and leave." I nodded in agreement. I didn't like the looks of these guys; with their mean faces and rugged beards. I wondered how old they were. They looked in their mid-twenties.

"Audrey. Charlie?" I shouted as loudly as I could over the hill.

"Are you looking for someone?" My head shot up and looked over at the strange men. I waited for someone to speak again but no-one did.

"E-excuse me?" I said shakily.

A couple of the men took a step forward. One kept on walking towards us. He looked me in the eyes and smirked. "I said, are you looking for someone?"

Stephan walked towards the man, his jaw tightened. "Yes. We're looking for our friends. A boy and a girl. Have you seen them?" He raised his eyebrow.

The man kept walking closer and closer to Stephan, until their noses were centimeters apart. "Now you listen here kid. We don't care who you're looking for. Just leave."

Stephan's fists were clenching and he looked like he was ready to kill. I walked quickly up to him and held his hand. He quickly calmed down. "Um, excuse me? Can you please not talk to him like that? We'll leave as soon as we find our friends." I said quietly crossing my arms.

Suddenly, the strange man grabbed my arm. I shouted in pain as his fingernails dug into my skin.

"Let go of her fucking arm!" I saw Nathan walk up from behind Tessa and Pam. He ran straight up to me and the man and tried to release my aching hand. The man laughed and held my hand even tighter than before.

"Haha. This stupid kid thinks he's stronger than me." The other men laughed from behind him. I narrowed my eyes at them.

I cleared my throat and spoke through clenched teeth. "Please. Let my arm go. I didn't do anything."

The man ignored me. "Guys! Come and help me take her clothes off!"

My eyes widened as I watched the strange men come towards me with their arms outstretched, ready to strip my clothes off.

"Fucking hell! Stay away from her!" Nathan ran forward and a loud cracking noise filled my ears. Oh my god. Did they just hit Nathan! I spun around and saw Nathan standing proudly. I saw the strange man lying on the floor holding his cheek.

"Nathan! You're a lifesaver!" I ran straight into Nathan's arms and gave him a big thankyou hug.

Stephan came and placed a hand on Stephan's shoulder. "Wow dude, you may be short, but you sure are strong." Tessa and Pam ran up to us and hugged me and Nathan.

"You fucking idiot!" I jumped when I heard another strange man's voice. "I think you bloody killed him!" I looked down and saw the guy crumpled in a heap on the floor.
