Jill stands frozen in fear, she's rarely scared even the unliving haven't got to spook her yet, it could be the shock but staring her dead in the eye is a forty feet long snake yes SNAKE!
The size of it's mouth could easily eat her without any discomfort and those teeth will probably go straight through her body.
She doesn't want to get pierced today, or ever really.
She's never been afraid of animals but the hizz from this creature makes her body cover with goosebumps.
Suddenly the Snake let's out a shriek of pain and the yell of her name brings her to reality, she spins around and sees Chris aiming his samurai edge and Richard aiming his shotgun.
A loud crack makes her spin back around, her body is frozen and she's desperately trying to force her body to move when the gap between herself and the snake is shrinking fast.
"Jill!!!!"
Is all she hear before being knocked over to the side hitting one of the shelves stocked with books, she falls to the floor so hard it knocks the breath out of her, books scatter around her making dust clouds appear.
Handgun shots echoes in the large room and suddenly the snake shrieks back getting shot in one of it's eyes, it trashes around trying to hit anything in it's surrounding, it suddenly stops in front of Chris sensing him and opens it's gap to devour him.
Chris let's a smirk play on his lips then brings up Richard's shotgun and fires a shot up at the snakes mouth and watches it's brain blow out, the snake stops moving and falls with a loud thump to the floor.
Jill blinks blurriness from her eyes and then sees a face full with relief from none other than Richard.
"Sorry for using you as my landing cushion, I just didn't want you to become snake food."
Jill slips out a smirk.
"I've been told women are softer to land on."
Richard's face turns instant red realising their position he stands up quickly and notice Chris giving him a strained expression.
Richard opens and closes his mouth a few times not sure what to say.
Jill stands up and let's out a groan, the impact wasn't easy on her already sore ribcage, a worried look from Chris reaches her but she shrugs it off.
"How the hell did you survive that thing Richard?"
Richard's right arm goes up and behind his neck a gesture of nervousness and insecurity, he scratches it slightly and responds with a whisper.
"I must have more luck than I thought."
Jill gives him a hard look, but decides not to push the subject.
"Every time I think this place is the worst it gets worse.
I'm done with this place let's try and find a way to reach Brad and get the hell out of here."
Chris stares at her with an expressionless face then finally gives a short nod.
"This place is gigantic though maybe we should split up." Richard suggests.
"I think that's a terrible idea knowing there was a freaking snake monster looming around who knows what friends he got!" Jill snaps at him.
He looks down on his feet at her sudden outburst an reaction he's not used seeing from her.
"Look, I didn't mean to snap but we need to be smart here, the bigger the group the bigger chance of surviving this. And that makes me realize where is Rebecca?"
Richard looks at her and then Chris and then scratches his neck again.
"I uhhh I left her in the medic room. There was some files she wanted to read."
Jill looks down for a second and then back at Richard.
"Maybe it's best if she stays there and you stay with her."
Richard doesn't understand Jill's change of heart.
"What the hell you can't expect me to stay behind! It's dangerous here and you just said the bigger group the better! You can't tell me to just wait sitting on my ass! We are members of stars!"
Jill's now furious and takes a step towards Richard and points a slender finger at his chest.
"This isn't a time to play hero kid! You don't think I know the danger here!?
You know who else are Stars members Barry where's he huh? You've seen him?
How about Forest sitting on a chair turned to bird food, Joseph getting torn to pieces screaming until the last breath, Kenneth being mutilated by a freak, you think they had a saying?
Brad leaving us behind with the only functional vehicle, Captain Wesker missing.
I know one thing for damn sure and that is you and Rebecca are getting out of here alive and if I have to lock you in somewhere for that to happen so be it."
Richard looks stunned but his face changes into an expression of defeat.
She feels guilty for the outburst but for his safety she forces herself to stand her ground.
"Please, Richard make this easy for me."
Her voice comes out pleading and she doesn't even care at this point.
He looks at her and nods slowly. "I'll stay.."
He drops his gaze and walks out of the library leaving Chris and Jill behind in silence.
Her arms drops to her sides and she wants to feel relieved but the only emotion lingering in her is unease.
Chris's hand reaches for her shoulder and causes her to flinch but it doesn't discourage him.
"You think I was too hard on him?"
She turns to lock eyes with him and her heart clenches when she sees his caring expression.
"He'll understand when he realizes you just wanted to protect him."
Without hesitation she finds herself in his embrace hiding her face in his shoulder.
"Thank you.."
His hand trails small circles on her back in a comforting manner just a moment of comfort to bring them strength to move on.
She let's go and forces on a focused expression, noticing it Chris mirrors her.
**A few moments and headshots later**
"Chris I don't know about this.."
Jill's eyes scan the graveyard through the bars of the gate.
"The dead are up and walking and you want to pass through a graveyard."
Chris takes a deep breath and opens the gate, he takes a few steps moving slowly towards the other side of the passageway showing another gate, Jill sighs and walks slowly after him.
A crow suddenly flies up from behind a gravestone startling both of them.
"Shit birds." She mutters under her breath.
They walk the path in silence, having all their senses on edge in case those dogs wanted to do a comeback.
"A shack?" They've reached the top of a hill surrounded by trees and there between them a plain cabin stands looking cold and abandoned.
"Come on."
Chris nudges her elbow lightly and walks over to the door and find it open.
Jill sighs behind him but the breath gets caught in her throat when Chris looks back at her annoyed.
"Yeeeeesh sorry I just don't like being out here okay?"
He rolls his eyes at her and walks inside with his gun ready, she swallows the urge to sigh and follows him.
"What or who do you think used to live here?"
She asks while holstering her gun and watching Chris leaning with his left arm against the fireplace, his back is turned against her and she feels bad that she can't give him reassuring words.
"I don't know but this place feels chilly like there's no kindness or warmth in the world that could make this place feel right."
Jill spots Chris shuddering slightly and reaches her hand out to touch his shoulder when a searing pain shots through her head.
She let's out a startled groan as her knees give in underneath her, while falling she accidentally scratches Chris's arm trying to grab it, her body colliding with the ground makes her teeth rattle and while trying to catch her breath she spots a figure coming closer.
"Chr......is..." She struggles to whisper before darkness consume her.
