Jill can't believe it, they found it, they actually found the laboratory.
She glances back at Barry, he's making her feel uneasy for some odd reason.
Her head gets clear from any thoughts once she hears slow unnatural hollow moans, she brings up her Samurai Edge and three of those living corpses stand before them.
She spots one close to her another one behind it and the third is struggling in the stairs.
She aims for the head almost on automatic, she has always been a showoff, definitely at practice shooting with her teammates they always rolled their eyes when she flexed on them. Perhaps her pride is silly but the skills definitely is appreciated now.

Two down one more to go, she looks with pity at the living corpse struggling in the stairs.
Showing no hesitation he's now motionless lying all crooked in the stairs.
At this point she tells herself she is freeing them, she doesn't let herself think what they used to be or who they used to be, they are deadly and she want to live, simple.

She walks down the steps slowly and open the gate at the bottom, she spots the monster in front of her immediately and shots it, however the one to her left catches her of guard but luckily Barry is fast to step in and take it out before any harm could be done.

"Thanks Barry."

"Don't mention it."
Barry moves through the hall and she can barely capture his low words.
She stare at his back for a moment, he's acting strange and she doesn't like it one bit.

"Jill, I think we'll have a bigger chance of finding a way out if we split up."

She looks at him and when his eyebrow quirks up she realize she's been staring oddly.
Splitting up is always a bad idea but for once she kinda feel like going alone.
"Yeah, that could be a good idea."

Without any words Barry walks away leaving her without a second thought.

'Definitely acting strange.. But I can't let my mind be distracted.'

Jill walks through the doors closest to her and find herself in a hallway, seeing a door immediately to her left she enters.
An x- ray room, Jill starts looking the images over, there's something odd about them, she looks up at the ceiling and notice that there's special lights in this room.
She walks over to the light switch and the light turns red and she studies the images seeing there's differences in them, after a while of thinking she comes out with the word 'cell'.
Jill checks the desk and find some notes.

'Great should have checked for notes earlier might have saved me some time, hopefully the password is in there confirming it's cell.'

My dearest Ada,

By the time you read this letter, I will no longer be the person you once knew. The results of my test came out today, and as I suspected, it came out positive.

I feel like I am teetering on the edge of reason just thinking about my impending doom. I would give anything not to have to become one of them.

As far as I know, you are not infected. I sincerely hope things do not reach such a desperate pass, but if it has turned out that you are now the last person remaining alive, I want you to get the material from the Visual Data Room.
Then, activate the Self-Destruct System in the Power Room, and escape from here. Please do everything in your power to make this whole accident public.

I'll give you S.T.A.R.S! Where stories live. Discover now
