i awoke to smell of coffee. i sat up rubbing my eyes and yawning and i swung my feet over the side of the bed. i shivered as my feet touched the cold hardwoods.

i walked into my bathroom and turned on my straightener to let it heat up. i pulled my hair back and washed my face and brushed my teeth.

i then quickly began to straighten my hair. as i was finishing up i heard my phone ding. i walked over to check the notification. it was from my best friend lauren.

lauren: hey i can't make it today, but johnny can come pick you up;)

i can't believe her.

me: fine.. thanks ha

i sat my phone back down on my nightstand and walked over to my closet. i picked out my outfit, which wasn't anything to extraordinary because i wasn't feeling it today.

i quickly changed an walked over to my vanity. i threw on some light makeup and rummaged through my makeup bag to find ny lip gloss. no makeup look is complete without lip gloss.

i walked downstairs and grabbed my coffee. i saw my mom sitting at one of the bar stools typing away at her laptop.

"good morning mama."

"morning honey, i brewed you some coffee and sat out one of your granola bars you love on the counter"

"thanks" i replies as i turned around to pick up my bar. i took a seat besides my mom and ate at my bar before i drank my coffee.

once i finished up i ran back up the stairs re-brushing my teeth and throwing on my shoes. i unplugged my phone from the charger, grabbed my backpack and went back down the stairs.

"bye mom, johnny's picking me up so i'm going to wait outside."

"alright sweetie, see you when you get home from school."

i walked out the door and sat on my front step waiting for johnny. i unlocked my phone and i was scrolling through instagram when i practically jumped out of my skin.

"darn it johnny a simple 'hello' would have been fine."

he just laughed away.

"that was a lot funnier though."

i stood up and walked over to his car. he opened up the door from his side and i sat down.

"thank you my kind fellow"

i giggled and he just stared at me.

"off to school" johnny said and he pressed the gas pedal with his foot. i'm quite surprised he didn't have another girl to pick up seeing as he always has a girl on his arm.. or lap. i was glad to have the alone time with him though.

"have have you been kenz, we don't talk much anymore?"

i blushed at the nickname. he has called me that since middle school and it still has an effect on me. who am i kidding johnny orlando you still have an effect on me.

"well i've been ok. i have missed maddie a little this past month, but she stays in touch."

maddie is my older sister. this year she went off to college in our home town of pittsburgh. therefore i haven't seen her since she left in the beginning of july.

"aw im sorry kenz, but she'll be back for christmas right?"

"yeah she will."

"we then thats something to be excited about."
