As I was sitting on Jack's bed, staring into space, the door opened. In walked Jack's brother. I think Jack said he was called Conor.
"Hey" Conor said, walking in.
"H-hi" I said, nervously.
I felt quite uncomfortable with Conor being in the same room as me; my trust issues are really bad.
Conor sat on the bed.
"You ok?!" he asked.
"Y-yeah" I answered, nervously and quietly.
"You don't have to be nervous around me" he said, with a sympathetic smile.
"I kn-know" I stuttered nervously. "Um I j-just have b-bad-"
"Bad trust issues" Conor finished off for me, to which I nodded. "But you don't have to be nervous around me. You can trust me!"
I nodded weakly.
"I have bad trust issues too!" Conor admitted. "I'm a singer you know!"
"Really?!" I said, shocked.
I never expected that.
"Yeah" Conor said, smiling. "I have a management who I all know and trust. But sometimes, if i'm having to meet new people before I do a performance, I get uncomfortable"
"W-what do you do?" I asked, nervously.
"I just try my best to get on with it" he answered. "My management know I sometimes get uncomfortable but I just try my best to tell myself it'll all be ok!"
I didn't really know what to say to that, so I just nodded and shrugged.
"Sorry if I seemed a bit off before" he apologised. "I was just in shock!"
"It's ok" I said.
"Well, i'm your uncle Conor!" Conor said with a smile, which made me smile.
Just then, Jack came through.
"Everything ok?!" he asked, looking at me.
I gave a weak nod.
"Just talking to my niece!" Conor said, smiling.
"Ok" Jack said. "Belle, we're gonna go shopping!"
Really? I never go shopping!
"In the car?!" I asked, nervously.
"Yeah" Jack answers.
What if Jack pushes me out the car? Just like my parents did!
What if i'm all alone again?!
I don't want to be all alone!
"Belle, what's wrong?!" Conor asked, snapping me out my thoughts.
Tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Last time I was in a car, my dad pushed me out and they told me they never wanted to see me again!" I said, choking up.
Jack joined Conor and I on the bed and hugged me.
"I'll never do that to you!" he said.
"But-!" I said but Jack cut me off.
"I know you don't trust people easily!" he said. "But trust me on this, i'll never leave you!"
We broke apart and I gave a weak smile.
"Now, what's your favourite colour?!" Jack asked.
"Lilac!" I answered. "Why?!"
"Because we're gonna do your room up. Lilac can be the main colour!" he said.
*******************
We'd just got back from shopping and put all the stuff in my new room. Jack said he had to answer a few emails and then we'd do my room. So, I decided to write in my diary.
Dear nobody,
Today I met Jack's brother, Conor, who said he's now my uncle. He's really nice! I feel like we can sort of relate because we both struggle with trusting people.
Jack and I went shopping today and he got me so much stuff. No one has ever bought me so much stuff before! He got me clothes and stuff for my new room, which was his spare room. Jack got me: lilac curtains, lilac bedding, a lilac rug, a lilac lamp and even my clothes hangers are lilac! He even got me little fairy lights that I can put along my bed and drawers to make my room cosier.
I haven't been this happy in so long!
See you tomorrow, Belle
