Conor's POV
It's been four days. I've tried my best to get a hold of Jack but his phone has always been off. I feel so bad for Belle. She really hasn't been herself and happy, even less than normal. I decided to take the week off recording until Jack comes back and things get sorted.
I'm trying to cheer Belle up but she's not taking any of it. I don't blame her; she feels like she's been abandoned all over again! This is awful for her!
Belle's POV
Dear nobody,
I've been staying with Conor for the past four days. Even though I feel safe with Conor, I don't feel right. I feel like Jack has abandoned me, just like my parents did!
Is it me?
Is it my fault?
Does no one want me?
I'm so confused by everything!
See you tomorrow, Belle.
As I finished my diary entry, the doorbell rang. Conor answered it and walked back through with Anne, my social worker. Conor looked like he was just as confused as me. He sat next to me and Anne sat across from us.
What was going on?!
Conor's POV
I answered the door to see Anne, Belle's social worker.
Wait, why was she here?!
What's going on?!
Is Jack back?!
I let her in and we walked through to the living room. I sat next to Belle and Anne sat across from us.
"I've heard about Jack's stunt!" she said began. "With his lack of responsibility I can't possibly allow him to continue to have custody of Belle!"
"I understand!" I said.
"Now, I know you have a very good relationship with Belle" she said. "And you've also been checked out by social services. You have a choice, we can pass full custody of Belle onto you. If you don't decide on that, I will be taking Belle with me today and taking her to a children's home!"
This was a no brainer! I love Belle! I can't have her go into care and get adopted by people she won't trust. Of course i'm going to adopt Belle!
"I want custody of Belle!" I answered.
"Ok" Anne said. "I need you to sign some papers!"
Anne gave me some papers and I read through them and signed them.
"Ok" Anne said. "You now have full custody of Belle!"
I gave Belle a comforting side hug.
After a while, Anne left.
I couldn't believe it. She was mine.
I have full custody of Belle!
