*NOTE
This is just me trying out some writing. It's not meant to be anything, just a sort of look into the main entities that inhabit this land.
Hope u enjoy it
*************************************What is evil?
When we say evil, who can we call evil? Is it perhaps the elves that steal humans babies. Is it the dwarves that wage war on humanity? Is it the dragons that fiercely defend their treasure filled dens? Is it the humans, who seek to encroach upon new lands?
No.
It is none of them.
Yet it is all of them.
Evil is not defined by physical boundaries, rather mental ones. All races have great evil within as well as great good. It's just that they choose to be blind to the good in their enemies.
And it is this blindness that the evil uses to corrupt, manipulate and destroy the bonds that once linked all the races in harmony.
So what is evil?
Evil is the reflection of good. It looks the same in all regards, yet in practice produces different results. The ones we deem evil do not deem themselves evil.
The elves steal babies to feed, nourish and enrich the human babies. To them it is a blessing they give for free to the ungrateful humans.
The dwarves wage war on humanity as they mine and destroy the minerals and rocks they deem sacred, turning these rocks into ugly useless things. They believe it their sacred duty to protect these resources as they see the great strength in them.
The dragons kill and loot human cities so that someday their children can grow up free of fear of humans destroying their dens and hunting them.
So is it the humans who are evil?
To the others, yes. To us, we expand and encroach lands to find new in habitations, and settlements to better the lives of the ones we care about. So for the third time, what is evil?
It is a nonexistent and abstract concept created by sentient minds to describe and justify their fear of the unknown. Just like good. And it is this concept with which we judge others.
For in the real world, there is no good or bad.
Only the strong and the weak.
And the day all the races realize this, is the day they all realize that there never was any evil corrupting or manipulating anything, only their fear.
And that realization brings together a unity that cannot be forged elsewhere.
A unity restored.
So is evil the fear?
No.
But it is the fear of the unknown that we associate with evil. For how can evil be good? But in thinking so we become the evil to what might be a benevolent entity.
So in conclusion, evil is a nonexistent entity that threatens the existence of every species on this land. It is through the flaws of a sentient mind that such entities propogate.
Evil is a paradox.
