Pete kissed me.

I kissed him back.

That was the last thing that I remembered. The next thing I knew, we were sitting at the back of a cab, Pete commanding the driver to just drive around.

We were in an awkward silence. I was all fidgety and confused while the asshole looked nothing but calm as he looked outside the car's window.

My mind was in total chaos. I didn't know what to think. Pete---my bestfriend, kissed me. I kissed him back. Talk about awkward. In my defense, I was startled and it had been so long since I got to kiss someone, and with the way Pete was kissing, there's no way I can hold back. The guy's really something. If I had known he can kiss that way...shvt! What was I thinking! He's my bestfriend for fvck's sakes! Besides, he only dig girls. Pun unintended.I get back to the case at hand.

I didn't want to assume and so I looked for what I thought was the most logical reason for his actions and blurted it out.

"You really did know how to silence me. What you errrr did back there was fun. But it's something not to be repeated. It wasn't funny." I was trying to be cool saying it.

The asshole Pete gave me a side glance before saying, "I wasn't even joking."

I was dumbfounded. What did he mean by that?

He might have seen my stupid face because he added, "I kissed you. That's that."

"It was a prank then."

Pete looked at me with a bemused face.

"I prank Jeb and the boys all the  time, you didn't see me kiss them did you?!"

"Then, what was all that about!?!"

"That was what it was. I kissed you because I wanted to!"

"Why?!?!" I was half shouting half screaming. I honestly didn't know the difference.

The car driver  had been feeling uncomfortable, he coughed to get our attention and reminded us that we're still inside his cab.

I would love to punch that smug off Pete's face."We need to talk."

"No shvt sherlock!" I let out an annoyed sigh  before diverting my gaze outside.

I heard Pete told the driver where to head.

Ten minutes after, we were at the Sun and Rain cafe, our favorite hang out place, it was somewhere between the dorm and Pete's house that was why it became our instant go to.

After we placed our order, we went up the second floor we called The Balcony. We chose the most deserted part of that floor. We sat in total silence. I didn't know what Pete's up to at the moment. I tried to look around but his face. I was confused, and my mind circuits are almost frying if they were not already. Seeing his face would be the last thing I would have wanted.

Our orders arrived. As always, it was green manggo shake and chocolate mousse cake for the both of us. Pete knew how crazy I was over green manggo shake and he, with the cake. He made treaty then.

I was confused but I was thirsty too and the shake was just inviting, and so, I tried to get to the shake all the while trying to avoid Pete's gaze. The first sip was heavenly, as expected from this place. I got lost and only after I had finished almost half of the shake did I look up to the face of my bestfriend smirking at me.

I was startled. But I composed my self and straightened my posture afterwards. Pete's eyes never leaving mine. We held each other's gaze for a while. It was comforting but confusing at the same time.
