Chapter Fourteen
I walked beside Levy, chanting animatedly about the recents events and the upcoming fights that I looked forward to while Droy and Jet walked behind the two of us. Lucy had already gone home by the time that I was ready to leave and because I wanted to give her a little more peace than usually I grabbed ahold of Levy and started to drag her along with me.
The wind blew against us as a storm formed and headed our way. I looked up my eyes going towards an alley that wasn't that far in front of us. I tugged on my scarf as we grew closer to the alley before shaking my head.
I already knew that nothing would happen.
"And did you see how awesome I was! I was so awesome right! If I hadn't thought so little of his lightning there's no way I would have fall for it." I exclaimed laughing. "Laxus is no match for me unless he cheats. That's so unfair. If it didn't fall below the belt I would do it too!"
Levy laughed as she placed a hand on my shoulder. "Calm down will you. Laxus is one of the strongest members that we have. No one expected you to win." I could feel her reassure me but still I knew that I could have taken him.
I wasn't as weak as everyone thought I was. Sure I made mistakes, get beaten fairly easy more often than not but I was still strong. Stronger than that pink haired 'fake' dragon slayer.
"Levy..." I said my words trailing off as I came to a stop. "If something was to happen to me, would the guild care?" I asked suddenly as I looked up towards the dark black sky.
"What are you talking about! Of course we would care, right boys?" Levy said, as Droy and Jet agreed.
I laughed rubbing my neck. "So this is what it's like to be in a guild. I should be getting back to Lucy's place but let's do a mission together soon." I shouted walking towards the alley.
"Goodnight, Beau!" Levy called after me.
I wonder if what she said was true. Even if I hadn't been in the guild but for a few weeks, why would they care so much. What strange feelings this place brings about in me.I came to a stop as I turned to face the person that I had smelt. "I thought I recognized this scent." I said spotting the one and only Laxus. "What can I do for the 'most' powerful Fairy Tail wizard?"
I could feel his burning glare on me for reasons that I didn't know. What could I have possible down to make this male so anger at me. To make such hate flow from him for no reason at all.
"I know your secret." Those four words sent fear through my body.
"Tsk, if that was true then you wouldn't be standing before me. Unless you're able to read minds you wouldn't know my secret." My tone was a warning for him to drop it as my hands clenched into fists.
"That old man might be trusting and let you all the hook but I am a different story." Laxus tone matched mine. "I might not care much for this weak guild but I plan on taking over when that old man drops dead. And there won't be room for people like you in it."
People like me? Just what secret does he think he know.
"So is this your way of telling me to drop out and leave Fairy Tail?" I asked tilting my head to the side. "Are you trying to protect the place that you claim not to like?"
He flashed before me, his lightning lit the alley up as it struck the ground. "Watch what you say. I was merely taking it easy on you earlier."
"I don't have time for this." I said turning around. "And you wasn't the only one taking it easy. Do you really think your Grandfather would have allowed me to join the guild if he knew just what I was really capable of?"
The wind blew taking me with it. I watched from the rooftops as Laxus growled before leaving the area as well. Just what was it about me that caught his interest.
Shaking my head I jump back down proud of my awesome ninja skills before beginning my walk again. A grin stuck to my face as I hummed to myself.
Unaware of the eyes that watched me. ignoring the scent of sulfur and peppermint that filled the area.
"Lucy!" I shouted slamming the her apartment door open. "Lucy?" I called out noticing just how quiet her place was. Just where did my blonde hair friend run off to? Letting out a sigh I found a place to lay down and stared at the ceiling. Soon, I knew I would have to find my own place.
