Chapter 4: Diagon Alley

Mina’s POV

I woke up in the hospital in a strange bed. It is very bright and the mattress is rather lumpy. I sat up a bit and looked around. Snape seemed to be sleeping fitfully in the chair beside my bed. I got up from the bed and, testing out my limbs to see if they are in working order, went to find the lou. I barely made it a foot when I noticed that I was naked except for my underpants. I took up the sheet off my bed and wrapped it around myself.

“Silly me.” I said to my self. I waved my hand over the sheet and it transformed into black leggings and a grey sweatshirt. This magic thing is pretty fun and I think I am getting the hang of it. I found it much easier to simply to simply transform the sheet then to create the little bugs last night. I walked out of the hospital and make my way down the hall. There seem to not be many rooms in this hall and those that are look like offices and closets. Finally after going down two or three more hallways I come to a lavatory.

After I finish I decide to explore a little bit. The great stonewalls have all sorts of interesting things carved into them. I spotted a centaur and a few mermaids intertwined with the normal scrolling found in the plastering. I stepped into a few rooms and was surprised to see that most of them looked like normal classrooms aside from an odd thing or two such as a jar of pickled parts or a glowing box. I wandered up to a portrait of a very fat woman who appeared to be moving.

“Hello?” I ask hesitantly.

“Password.” Droned the fat woman.

“I’m sorry, I don’t have one.” I say looking at the ground.

“No password, no entry.” The fat lady said again in a board tone. I think I’ll move along then. I skip down a smaller passage and slide down the banister of a few stairs and find myself in front of a dark wall somewhere below the castle. There is something interesting about the wall. It looks almost alive. I press my hand to it and there is a quick flash of Silverlight and suddenly there is a door. I open this new door and find myself in what appears to be a common room. It is decorated in silver black and green and I can’t help to notice that the green is the exact same shade as my eyes. This room is starting to bore me so I close the door behind me again and walk down the hall heading deeper into the castles depths.

Not to far away from the green room there is another door but this one too is well warded. I can see a faint shimmering veil over where the door is that I assume is to stop people from finding it. I push aside the magic easily and open the door. This room is most definitely some ones personal rooms. And I think I know whose. There is a distinct sense of familiarity shifting about the room as if a piece of shadow was left behind. There is a nice looking couch pushed up against the left wall with a green throw blanket over its back and a fireplace big enough to stand in beside it. Across from the couch is a long counter with stools in front of it and workspace behind. There is a small hall heading off to what I assume to be the lou and bedroom behind the counter. The floor is made of black wood and the walls have black and green paper on them. All of the furniture seems to be the dark non-colour as well. The counter top is made of black rock with small silvery flecks in it and wrests upon black wooden cupboards. Over all the room comes together nicely, though a plain it has a comfy vibe to it. I am pretty tired now from all of my exploring and that couch looks very inviting. I walk over to the couch and lay down, resting my head on the armrest and pulling the blanket over my body. I am asleep in seconds.
