I flew as fast as I could back to the bookstore, into the room and de-transformed into my black-haired, blue-eyed, human self. About a minute later, Rosie came to the door, saying it was safe to come out. She seemed slightly out of breath; wonder why... She gave me a tour of the apartment; 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, Living-room, and study. Then she told me it was time for bed and we parted ways.-Time skip-I woke up at 4 in the morning, with no interruptions; I wonder how long that's going to last. I went downstairs and almost did a double-take. Rosie is sitting at the table reading a book. At 4 AM! She waves at me before seeing my confused expression. She then explained, 'I don't sleep much.' I responded with a quiet 'same...' and grab some coffee. Her face seems to be covered lines, but that must be a trick of the light. About 15 minutes later, she gets up and heads to the study. She comes back with her laptop and starts typing. She looks up about 20 minutes later. I've hacked into the government's dater base, yes, really, and I can change your guardianship over from your previous guardians to me. If you want me to, that is. I'm shocked for multiple reasons, but I nod anyway. She askes for my 'parents' names, and she seems to recognise them. "They're ghost hunters right?" I nod again, and she chuckles."My ex-guardians, the Smiths, were demon hunters. Coincidences, huh?" I chuckle too, and she changes over my legal guardian to her. I'm free.I look up at her face, and I see, in the glair from the computer screen, scars crossing over almost all of her skin. She must realise what I've seen from the look of horror on my face. "Torture's a bitch. Enough said." She's not going to elaborate ant further, and I won't force her too. I would hug her but given her reaction to it last time that isn't a good idea. She tries to smile at me, and I try to smile back; they both come out as grimaces.A clang sounds. Then my ghost sense goes off. That didn't last long. Rosie quickly excuses herself. Strange. Never mind. "Going ghost" and the familiar rings wash over me, transforming me into Phantom.
