Third-person p.o.v

Things were quiet. Well, a super hero's definition of quiet; by which I mean no significant developments or catastrophes had happened recently. Two skilled hackers and a determined halfa were becoming increasingly irritated. Robin had been looking into adoption records across America from the death of his parents and around five yeards onwards. From what he gathered, Danny hadn't been in an orphanage for long if at all. Even when he scoured from his parent's death to the present, he found nothing. Danny hadn't been adopted; his guardianship had been changed. When Starfire had finally pulled him away from his research to play football and get some sleep, this epiphany came to him. At three o'clock in the morning. He'd found it.

Now all that was left to do was talk to Danny; he knows he could have at any point and just asked his questions, but he had to be sure. Now without any reason to procrastinate, he resolves himself to talk to his brother, finally.

Over at the book shop, Rosie had left a few hours earlier. She had run into Danny's room with ruffled feathers. Literally. Her wings were out and in just as much disarray as her hair. She had asked:

"I know it's only been a month, but I need you ta watch the shop, something's come up, and I'm going to be unreachable for a while; haven't worked out how to do trans-dimensional phone calls yet. That alright with you?"

Once Danny had nodded, and she disappeared without so much as another breath.

-Time skip-

Dick felt weird, not wearing his costume for the first time in several weeks. He barely went out as himself in fear of gaining unwanted recognition, but this was important. Taking a deep breath, he pushed open the door and made his way to the counter.

Danny wasn't at the counter, but he quickly spotted him by the coffee machine grumbling quietly. Walking over, Dick cleared his throat.

"I'll be with you in a minute, but we're closing up for lunch in a few minutes."

"I'll wait."

Danny spun around and looked confused for a moment. He could have sworn that was Robin's voice, but that certainly wasn't the multicoloured hero. He did look familiar, though.

"How can I help you?"

"I was wondering if we could talk, maybe over lunch? My names Dick, Dick Grayson."

The piece of the coffee machine in Danny's hand went clattering to the ground earning a glair from some nearby patrons, not that the brothers noticed.

"Y-yeah, alright we, um, we close up in a bit. I would offer you coffee but..." he gestured to the coffee machine currently in pieces. Dick laughed, nodded and sat down at one of the barstools.

Less than 15 minutes later Danny had closed up shop. He beckoned Dick to follow him into the apartment above the shop and headed into the kitchen. Danny nodded some him to sit at the table and microwaved some of the leftovers from the night before. He set the two bowls on the table and sat down opposite his brother.

"What was the only thing mum could cook?"

Dick blinked, "Guess I should have expected you to check I wasn't lying. It was chocolate cake. She also used to call you her angel because you were so much more graceful in the air than on the ground. You're younger than me by three minutes but always acted like the older sibling."

Danny was crying; this really was his brother.

Dick was worried he'd said something wrong but quickly realised these were tears of joy. Swiftly moving around the table, he engulfed his younger brother in a hug. He then realised he was also crying.

The brothers held onto each other for what felt like hours before separating and drying their eyes. They were silent for a bit before Danny realised he had to get back to the shop and told Dick as much.

"You want me to keep you company, maybe catch up a bit?" After receiving an agreement from Danny, they headed down together and re-opened the store.
