9: getting down to the truth

Rosie's pov

While Danny was gone, I was thinking of a plan for tonight, time went quickly, and he was back.

"How'd it go?" Danny sighed.

"In his words: 'you were once known as Daniel James Grayson, use that name now.'" I chuckled.

"Does he ever give a straight answer?" Danny sighed again.

"No." We both laughed until Danny looked at the clock.

"We better get going," looking at it too I nodded.

"Yes, if you make your-self known first, I'll keep watch, and if anything seems fishy, I'll teleport us both out. If not, I'll come down and answer questions with you. This is on our terms, so don't answer anything you don't want to." Danny rolled his eyes but nodded.

"You sound like a lawyer!"

With that, we both transformed. (I can't be bothered to describe it)

3rd person pov

And so it went. Danny, like Phantom, made contact at 8:30 on the dot, and things seemed to go well.

"Where's Midnight?" Robin asked

"She'll be here in a minute." Was the reply

"What are you? You don't seem completely dead?" Raven asked next.

"I'm a halfa." Came the response.

"And that is?" came from Cyborg.

"Ask your friend; she seems to know," Midnight said as she appeared next to then, making them all Jump. "What'd you want to know, we don't have all night."

"And what are you, exactly?" Robin got strait to the point.

"A dark angel, if you did your research properly, you would know that; I said it in a few interviews during my vigilantly days." That seemed to shock Raven.

"You are aware there is only one in existence, and you are clamming her title."

"What kind of fool do you take me for." And that ended that conversation.

The others looked at each other in confusion.

"You have both been accused of property damage, robbery, kidnapping and public endangerment. What do you say to that?" Robin was again, strait to the point.

"All superheroes cause property damage and public endangerment, and I was being controlled during the robbery by a villain called freak-show. The kidnapping of the mayor was staged by a ghost called Walker who hates my guts. If you look at pictures the former I have red eyes showing I'm being controlled. In the latter, the mayor has red eyes as he was being overshadowed." Was Danny's response, after which he turned to Rosie.

"Phantom's first two points apply to me as well. The people I cared about were held hostage, by him not me, and I had to 'return' an artefact from a museum to their captor. Said artefact should have rightfully belonged to him anyway, so I did nothing to get it back. There was also the case of the 'copycat' a few years ago..." she trailed off.

"Seems fair, we do tend to cause a lot of damage and attract a lot of villains. Also, you did steal for Slade to stop him from killing us a while back." Robin cringed slightly at the memory and nodded.

"Random question, where's Starfire?" Danny asked out of no-where,

"She said she didn't like this and wanted nothing to do with it," Cyborg explained.

"Oh..."

"What about the murder charge?"

Everyone suddenly went quiet when Robin said that. Rosie froze with a mixture of anger and sadness in her eyes. "She was an innocent little girl. I have not, nor will I ever, intentionally take an innocent life. The murder charge was a carless and awful mistake the GiW made while chasing me, which was then later pinned in me to keep the department going. Her family never knew the truth. Do you see why we are so cautious now?" This shocked everyone? Without waiting for anything else, Midnight grabbed Phantom, and they both disappeared.
