"Mom read me the story about how the sun loved the moon!" Jimin, who was currently 6 at the time, shouted in his bed with the covers wrapped around his face. His mother smiled at him as she brought Jimin's smiling crescent moon plushie.

"The story of the sun and the moon huh?" Jimin's mother whispered as she sat beside her sun. "You really love that story don't you?" She chuckled, petting her son who nuzzled into her warm hand.

"Yes, of course! Mommy knows the best stories," Jimin smiled, insisting his mother to quickly recite the story.

"Alright alright," Jimin's mother shifted in a much more comfortable position and grabbed the small book from the bedside table.

"Once upon a time, there lived the Sun, a bright and beautiful being whom had so much warmth within him. Then there was the Moon, a glowing beauty who illuminated the darkness. These two beings had a mutual friend named the Earth," she looked up from the book seeing Jimin listening with his eyes heavily clinging to stay open, "Both the Sun and the Moon loved helping the Earth. The Sun shared his warmth with the Earth, producing the blooming nature bestowed upon the muddy brown dirt. The Moon has brought the aggressive but yet so gorgeous waves who kissed the shores of beaches around the Earth. One day, early in the morning, the Sun had woken up. The Sun, who was still tired but yet desperate to help the Earth saw a glimpse of the illuminating Moon. All these years, the Sun has not realized who else was helping the Earth finally to see the perpetrators before his eyes. The Sun has realized the Moon had been helping alongside him. Quickly enough the Moon, who had been oblivious to the Sun's presence, began to drift away as it was time for her to sleep. The Sun was startled by the beauty the Moon had presented and wanted to meet his first love." At this time, Jimin had started falling asleep.

His mother placed the book back onto the bedside bed and was just about to leave before Jimin suddenly sprung out of bed and grabbed his mother's arm. "Please continue to the end!" He shouted.

Dumbfounded, his mother help her hand over her heart and shook her head," Jimin you gave me such a scare! You have school tomorrow! It's time to sleep now," His mother sighed reaching to pet her son's head.

"Please mommy, I promise I'll be really good tomorrow, please finish the story!" Jimin shook his mother's arm to finally earn back a sigh where his mother sat back down and opened the book.

"Every day, the Sun felt nervous and restless to the point where the Sun had began to give too much. The Moon, who had not known of the Sun's help had her work increased due to the Sun's distractions. One day, the Moon herself had seen the Sun. She in fact, fell in love herself. The Sun who had always been trying to look at the Moon saw her incidentally as the Moon had started to go down. It was then, the Moon and the Sun decided to work hard for the Earth to meet each other as soon as possible. But their love was a curse. No matter how hard they tried, the Sun and the Moon were never able to meet and unite as one. The Moon, depressed and irritated, had created storms amongst the seas. The Sun, raging and wretched, left land to crack as they dried out." Jimin's mother took a breath before looking at Jimin. "What happens next?" Jimin's mother asked.

"The Moon and the Sun meet!" Jimin answered gleefully.

"That's right," his mother smiled, "As they slowly destroyed the Earth from their anger and sadness, they realized the Earth has been suffering this whole time. They decided to stop their destructions and continued to fix the Earth. One day the Sun had began waking up and started to work for the Earth until he saw the familiar light he had considered the most beautiful. It was the Moon! The Moon, who had somehow figured out how to meet the Sun, chased towards him. The Sun, overly excited as well as beaming, chased towards the Moon as well. Soon enough, they were able to unite as one. The Earth, who had been a standby the whole time watched as the glowing ring against the Moon was the Sun hugging tightly to the Moon. When the Moon and the Sun had let go, they had realized the Earth's children were suffering. The Earth, who was despaired had wished the Moon and the Sun to separate. Their love was too dangerous for the children of the Earth. The Moon who loved the children as much as the Earth did decided to leave immediately, leaving the Sun. The Sun was left alone, with guilt and sadness. That's when the Sun and the Moon had realized to never love again. The Earth however, respected the Sun and the Moon, granting them small meetings which were no longer than 5 minutes, allowing them to meet every few years. Gleeful over the Earth's gift, they had agreed to the Earth's conditions. And so, that ends the story of the Sun and the Moon." Jimin's mother ended, finally seeing her son snore as he had fallen asleep.

Jimin's mother made sure to tuck him in once more before leaving to ready herself for a night of sleep.

note: I hope you liked my little story about the Sun and the Moon. I worked my brain off to write this small story. I had initially wanted to take a random legend online but I wanted the story to fit more to what I want this story to be like so I made mine up. I did use inspiration from different legends/myths online but the one I written is from my blood, sweat, and tears.

Anyways I hope you like the first chapter!
