Chapter 7: All Alone

I woke up, only remembering what I was supposed to be doing last night. I face palmed. I completely forgot and fell asleep! Dang it. I guess I'll have to tell him later.

I got up and got dressed quickly. I went to get more water, except the waterfall disappeared. Where'd it go? Hmm, at least the stream was still here. I filled up the jugs and walked back to where everyone else was.

When I got back, I walked in with Scarlett to see what was going on in the boy's side of the tree house. Max, apparently, was burning his bed. "Idiot," I mumbled as I rolled my eyes.

*"I'm starting to think he didn't build any of his gadgets. I mean, hello? He just burned his bed. Anyone would have the sense to not do that. He's completely dense."*

After I finished eating some breakfast, I heard the air horn go off. "Calling all contestants! It's time to get rolling!" Chris laughed. "Uh, that'll make sense in a minute." Oh, I don't like where this is headed.

We all walked to where we usually would meet. We stood around of Chris where two giant balls where behind him and there was a hole for something to go in there. Or rather, someone.

*"If someone has to go in there, it's not going to be me."*

"Listen up, everyone. Today's challenge is simple," we all sighed in relief. "Simple. And deadly." Of course. "You'll all be racing across the island in these turbo-orbs! Each team will cram into one turbo-orb and run like a hamster in a wheel. First team to the other side of the island wins immunity."

"Both teams are sure to have a ball!" Topher said.

"Just get in the orb, Topher." Chris said in annoyance with a glare. He did so and so did the rest.Jasmine didn't move a muscle.

"Uh,Jasmine? You alright?" I asked.

"Jasmine? Hello? You still on Australian time?" Chris laughed. "I actually have no idea if that ahead of us or behind us. But, you get the joke."

"Okay!Just got to get inside that small, crammed, confined ball. No way out! Let's do this!"Jasmine said. She then crouched low with her knees to her chest while shaking with fear.

"Jazz? I didn't know you had this phobia. But you gotta face your fears." I said. "Come on, you can do it."

"I'm okay!Just have a teeny issue with confined spaces. No biggie!"Jasmine said and started walking. But then, she crouched low again and started shaking again.

"Uh-huh. You know what else is a confined space? A cannon." Chris said. I glared at him.

"Not helping, Chris." I said.

"Okay, bad cop didn't work. Time for good cop." Chris said. Chris crouched low on the other side of her. "Jazz, I didn't know you had this phobia. Now that I do, I realized this challenge is harder for you than anyone else. . . Chef, toss them in!" Chef grabbed both of us and picked us up. He tossed in the ball and I landed hard on Topher.

"Ow,"Jasmine and I said. Topher and I collided heads.

"Ow, hey! Not the hair!" Topher said loudly.

"Sorry, it's hard to notice when it's completely dark!" I sad angrily.

*"Why do I have to be crammed with people? This is something I do not want to do. Especially with Max."*

"You might feel a slight drop!" Chris yelled.

"What? What's he talking about?" I asked.

"Ready. Set. Go!" Suddenly, it felt like we were all pushed. I screamed loudly and banged my head on the metal ball. I kept screaming as it felt like we were falling. We were pushed around.
