The fighting went back and forth as all wizards did their part, the crew on the boat watching in awe. The small village had never seen wizards, there was no need for magic there so this was a first for many of them. By now the creature was visibly weakened, it's movements becoming more rash as it grew frustrated. It swung then swung again, only to miss or be stopped by the two more frontal assault wizards. Natsu and {Y/n} had basically danced circles around the beast in their competition, {Y/n} had been winning which only fueled Natsu to try harder. They had moved fast and swiftly enough to avoid it's tentacles, sometimes it was just by the skin of their teeth. Freed had focused on keeping the ship afloat while Grey tried his best to keep the sea beast distracted. He used his magic to pull it's attention randomly, giving the others openings to attack.
Soon it had enough of the wizards, moving to slam one of it's slimy appendages to slam it down right on the boat. As {Y/n} had swung back around on the rope she knew Freed's enchantment wouldn't hold much longer. When it went to swing again she swooped down, letting go of the rope and tackling said man out of harms way. Now with the enchantment broken the beast slammed down on the deck of the boat. This put a large dent down the middle, making the ship cave into it slightly. The crew began to work on bailing out the now flooding haul while Freed and {Y/n} go up to get back to work.
"You've saved my life." Freed said, his gaze on the large dent where he once stood.
{Y/n} had giving a small shrug, turning back to the monster. "None of us are safe yet." She said and was off once again. This time she had attacked one of the tentacles as it went to slam on the boat again, making it draw back from the sudden pain of its more sensitive side that house the hundreds of suction cups. She then leaped off the edge of the boat just managing to leap on another tentacle as it went by. Freed had watched in awe before coming back to his sense.
"My lady {Y/n}, I will repay this dept to you if it's the last thing I do." He muttered. He then went to help the crew, putting an enchantment up to stop the breached haul from taking on water. This gave the crew more then enough time to replace the broken and cracked board with new ones. The job they did wasn't the best but would keep them all afloat.
With the sudden distraction {Y/n} had fallen behind in the competition with Natsu, he had noticed her slipping and wasn't afraid to call her out for it. This may of been the first time Natsu would win anything against his childhood friend and like all their bets the winner would get anything they wanted from the loser. Weather the loser had to do something or physically give a possession, anything really meant anything. Natsu would now focus more on teasing {Y/n} to get her off her game in order to keep his lead, truth was he was scared she'd catch up. "Your losing {Y/n}! Are you feeling sick?" He called.
"Nope, just getting ready to crush you!" She yelled up to Natsu then attacked the beast again.
"I bet I can finish this thing off!" He yelled and leaped off the creature.
Natsu had braced himself on the ship, taking in a deep breath. "Fire dragon's roar!" He called then sent the barrage of flames at the beast. It's oily skin had caught flame as it let out a shrilling screech, reeling back from the pain. It began to sink into the ocean, unable to keep afloat as it felt it's life slipping away. {Y/n} ran and leaped to get back on the boat before what she once stood on sunk into the ocean but she wasn't quick enough. One of it's tentacles reached up in a last ditch effort to keep afloat and grabbed the young wizard, pulling her down as it sunk.
She took in a deep breath before she was wrapped in the cold embrace of the ocean, making her tense slightly. With her change the tentacle tightened around her, making it harder to hold her breath. She tried to pry the appendage off of her waist but hadn't gotten it to budge. The surface grew farther and farther away as her surrounding grew darker, the beast finally reaching the jagged and rocky bottom on the ocean.
