The forest was lush and full of color, much like the one she had played in as a child where her dragon mentor had resided. Walking through the forest had brought back the best memories and helped her forget about what happened at the guild. The only thing that rubbed her the wrong way was that, many of the trees were punched through. As of right now, she followed the carnage that the tree from earlier made when it was tossed out of the forest and to the lake. Many of the trees were bent, broken, or full of holes. Along the way she found small shards of metal, upon closer inspection it was iron.

Eventually she got to a clearing, where she found the culprit for all the destruction. There stood a large and muscular, black haired male wizard. It was Gajeel, one of the few in the guild she knew little to nothing about. He was punching a tree, which he broke quickly. It made the young girl scoff, the pointless destruction turning her mood sour once again. She stomped forward as he moved on to another tree. Just after he pulled his fist back to punch the tree, she grabbed his arm. {Y/n} pulled him back roughly, catching him off guard and making him fall.

Gajeel was immediately fuming mad from this.

"Hey! Who do you think you are!?" He snapped at her. Gajeel was quick to get back on his feet and to hold up a finger at her. His brows narrowed and a small vein was visible on his forehead from his anger. {Y/n} stared back with the same anger before gesturing to the broken mess of trees he made.

"You're too destructive! You're just like Natsu!" She snapped back.

"Oh please, the flaming idiot and I have nothing in common." Gajeel said then crossed his arms over his chest.

{Y/n} rolled her eyes then looked away for a moment. In truth, she knew little about Gajeel. He had joined the guild then they just never seemed to connect, of course they knew each other existed but interactions like this were rare. She would think for a moment before pointing to a rock.

"Punch that instead!" She said, her voice sounding a little commanding. Her tone made him angry, so of course he would refuse.

"Nope." He said before turning back towards the forest. He planned to destroy the tree infront of her, mostly to just get under her skin. He knew how powerful she was and was looking for a reaction. Before he could hit the tree, she sent a swift kick to his right flank. Gajeel would stumble slightly, not expecting such force.

"I won't just let you mindlessly destroy an entire forest!" She protested.

"Then train with me instead?" He asked, though it sounded more like a statement.

"I don't think that-" She started but he cut her off.

"Look lady, I don't have all day." He said.

{Y/n} stared at him for a moment then rolled her eyes. Nevertheless, she then got into a fighting stance. "Let's go then." She said. Gajeel then held a wide smile, feeling fighting her would be better then fighting inanimate objects and trees.

She lifted her hands up then called out a spell. "Spring dragon's claw!" She yelled, sending the attack to Gajeel. He would block it as best he could, lifting his arms up and using steel to shield himself. The attack made him grunt when a bit broke through his blockade, but it only fueled him more to fight back.

Gajeel's arm then turned into an iron saw blade once he used iron dragon's sword. He sprinted forward then tried to hit her with it, slicing the sword across the air when she ducked out of the way. {Y/n} then kicked him back and used a more melee orientated spell of her own. When Gajeel stumbled back from the kick she sent to his chest, she extended her arms out.

"Spring dragon's, vine whip." She said then cast the spell. Long, green vines would form on her arms, the veins completely covering her skin from her elbow to her hand on both arms. She twisted the right one out of the way before sending the left one towards him. He jumped out of the way but the vine had grabbed on to his ankle. Gajeel landed on the ground then used his sword to cut the vine easily. The now cut piece would shrivel up and let him go, the part attached to her arm growing out a bit after to replace the part that had been lost.

"Hmm..." {Y/n} hummed then cracked the vine. It went upwards then wrapped around his shoulder. She then pulled the right vine over and it wrapped around his other shoulder. Gajeel struggled to get out of it and was slammed into the ground when she threw the vines up and down with massive force. Gajeel would force his arm to the side before she could do it again, cutting one vine then the other before it would regrow. He kept cutting it, giving the vines no chance to come back. When he got close enough, he swiped her feet out from under her.

{Y/n} landed on her back then rolled out of the way when he tried to club her with a iron beam coming from his fist. She would get a ways away before getting to her feet again, taking a moment to brace herself. Gajeel did the same, planting his feet firmly in the ground. He had an idea on what she was about to do and he was planning on doing the same.

"Spring dragon's roar!" She yelled once she took in a deep breath.

"Iron dragon's roar!" He shouted.

The two attacks mixed, sending both the wizards flying in different directions. There was a large explosion coupled with a pinkish blinding light. It was beautiful to look at but just as equally blinding to the eyes as staring into the sun. In the wake of the explosion there was a deep creator, filled with cherry blossom petals. {Y/n} was the first to peak her head out of the creator, her gaze wandering over the small mess they had made. Gajeel stood up next, his normally dark clothes now littered with petals. {Y/n}'s lips turned upwards into a smirk before she started to snicker, ultimately letting her amusement out when she fully started to laugh.

Gajeel's eyes narrowed when he looked at her. "What's so funny?" He'd asked, his tone harsh and slightly confused.

"You look... Pretty in pink." She said, having to catch her breath at the same time. Gajeel's brow furrowed then he realized what she meant. He quickly brushed the petals off it clothes then laughed a bit after.

{Y/n} pulled herself out of the creator and Gajeel followed, taking a moment to brush himself off after. "This... Wasn't terrible." He said then shrugged, catching her attention.

"What was?" She asked.

"Training with you, it wasn't bad." He admitted.

"Oh-... I'm glad you had fun then." She shrugged.

They walked back to Magnolia together, bumping shoulders roughly and occasionally pushing each other into trees. It was all fun and games, every shove playful and brought on with innocent intents. At one point, Gajeel nudged her and she got her foot caught in a root. Her hand grabbed his arm before she actually fell, though she still prepared herself to hit the ground. Gajeel quickly pull her up, pulling her into his chest on accident. {Y/n} blinked then steadied herself, letting his arm go  after she realized where she was.

"Thank you." She said quickly then moved away. Gajeel blinked, unsure why she was being so weird now. He shrugged it off and kept walking, going back to what he was doing before. They would push and shove each other like before, stopping once they got into town again.

"I'm kinda hungry..." {Y/n} said, coming to a stop.

"Me too..." Gajeel admitted, his stomach growling loudly shortly after. {Y/n} laughed slightly then started to walk in another direction. "Where are you going!?" Gajeel yelled after her.

"To go get something to eat? You can come if you want!" She yelled back to him, not bothering to turn around. Gajeel shrugged to himself then caught up to her. She searched for a place to eat, eventually finding one that they would both enjoy.
