Of silence
A moment of solace
In my dreams
Or, a moment of mourning
In my agony
But impossible, this is
So it seems
The world can't ever stop spinning
People won't stop running by
Time won't ever slow down
In its tracks
My life never stopped flying by
Where is time when I need it
Time in the stillness of my soul
Quietly listening to my heartbeat, and
Quietly thinking on my own
I've never understood why
I've turned so deep
Deep within the folds of my heart
Longing for that peaceful silence
That I know
I can never hold
