My heels clicked underneath my feet as I moved ungracefully toward the front doors of the ballroom. apparently some famous people are gonna be here tonight and so I'm stilled confused as to who they are and how Kasey got tickets if they're so famous.

"Cheer up Amy!" Kasey said as she pushed me slightly towards the door. "it'll be fun. I promise."

I sighed as we walked threw the door. I immediately recognized the 'famous people'

The Chicago Blackhawks.

I turned around and wrapped Kasey in a huge hug.

"Told you. I know you don't like fancy dresses but once I heard the Blackhawks were coming I immediately bought tickets."

'That's how she got the tickets' I thought to myself. 'she's rich.'

I release Kasey as we continued into the ballroom. I knew no one. I did spot a few fakes here and there. they're the ones who didn't even bother to wear a mask.

I adjusted my mask as I walked closely behind Kasey as we made our way to the table. that's when I recognized some of her family.

"Hello Amy!" Kasey's mom said as she stood up ad demanded a hug. I hugged back with a huge smile on my face. her mom was just awesome like that.

I sat down and shifted to make myself comfortable not only because of the dress but I could've sworn someone was staring at me. I turned around and made eye contact with a brown haired boy wearing a simple silver mask. I thought I recognized him and thought maybe he was just one of the Blackhawks and he was really staring at Kasey cause she's way more prettier than I am

The food was served. We ate. We talked and laughed. People were dancing on the dance floor. mainly lovebirds slow dancing. I noticed a handsome man walk towards the table and walk straight towards Kasey. Figures. He whispered in her ear causing her to giggle. I wanted to puke. she giggled and stood up and left leaving me alone at the table. her parents went to dance as well as the other people at the table.

I put my head in my hand as I stared at the ground kicking my feet up and down. I jumped slightly as I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and faced the same boy from earlier.

"Wanna dance?" he asked.

"Um sure" I responded as I took his outstretched hand.

He lead me to the dance floor as he put his hands on my waist. I placed my hands around his neck as we started swaying back and forth. We danced like that till the end of the song. The next few songs were more upbeat and we acted like goofs and just had a good time.

We dance around for about 10 songs until we were both exhausted. we laughed and made our way over to the snack bar.

"That was fun" mystery boy said as he picked up a handful of pretzels.

"Yeah that really was." I confirmed as I picked up a cup of punch and took a sip.

" I really had fun tonight." I said as I set my cup down on the table.

"Oh really?" he asked with a smirked. "will anything make it better? anything like a kiss?"

"A kiss? what do-" I didn't get to finish until I felt soft lips on mine. I immediately knew they belonged to mystery boy. I began to kiss back

He pulled away and I smiled. he looked embarrassed.

"I umm don't know where that-" I cut him off this time with my lips. he pulled me closer to him ad I could feel this sparks thingy people always talk about.

I looked at the clocked and realized I'd been with Mystery for over an hour. I needed to get back to Kasey.

" I have to go." I said as I began walking away.

"Wait!" he said as he grabbed my arm.

"I wanna see you again" he pulled his phone out of his pocket and handed it to me

"Give me your number?"

"Umm..sure." I types in my number and handed him back his phone.

"Thanks" was all he said before he pecked me on the lips and just walked away. did that really just happen?

As I walked back towards the table I realized I didn't even get his name but maybe he'll text me it.

I got back to the table and noticed Kasey and some guy sucking face. I made a face as I grabbed my purse and walked away towards the back of the room.

While walking I ran into a couple of girls in mermaid style dresses.

"Oh my ward I'm so sorry!" I said as I helped the one I knocked on the floor off the ground. "are you okay?"

"Why don't you watch where you're going?!" her friend yelled at me.

"I'm sorry I didn't see her standing there"

"Probably bacause all your fat was in the way"

I froze. I had a sensitive soul when it came to my self image and to hear a girl I don't even know call me fat was like a shot to the heart.

"Yeah" the girl I knocked over chimed in. "Why are you even here? There's no way you're gonna ever get a boy cause you're so ugly."

I fought hard to hold back tears as I pushed past them and walked away. I could hear them hurling insults at my back but I ignored what they were saying.

As I began to run out the door I was stopped by a pair of arms on my shoulders.

"Ma'am, are you okay?"

I looked up at the guy in front of me. it took my mind a minute to register the face but once I did I realized I was staring into the eyes of patrick sharp

"I'm fine."

"No you're not. I can tell."

Patrick led me over to a bench outside the building the walk being in silence with his arms around me.

"What's your name?" He asked

"Amy." I stated

"That's pretty. I assume you know who I am?" I nodded.

"What the problem?" I shook my head

"No need to bother you with the problems of someone you don't even know."

"Trust me, I know who you are."

"How?"

"Tazer has been talking about you all night."

"Oh, ummm... I ran into a couple of girls that just...never mind" I looked away.

"Tell me." he persisted.

"They called me fat and ugly and some other things."

"Look at me amy."

I look at Sharpie and he held my chin in my hands.

"You're a beautiful girl who needs to eat a cheeseburger, scratch that, you need to eat 10 cheeseburgers cause your so small. All girls are beautiful and that doesn't count you out."

He gave me a hug as I thanked him over and over again.

"You local around here?"

"Kinda. I live outside of town" he stood up.

"Hand me your phone" I did so.

He typed something in as I stared at him. he handed me my phone back.

"Text me whenever."

"Thank you."

He hugged me again and walked away. how am I handling meeting these people so well, then it clicked.

I kissed Jonathan Toews.
