I've seen many fanfics with Grounder OC's or Grounder side characters. I have a fanfic coming out with a Grounder OC, and I have a Grounder side character in my book Courageous.
Coming up with a name for the Grounder isn't actually that hard if you think about it. Most are deprived from their old world, before the bombs. Most are from statues in Washington DC, but there are others.
