Until it was all over

Chapter 3

"Hmm," I hummed, "I guess we could check out Fun Land , no?" Fun Land is an amuesment park/arcade/whatever else they thought was nessasary to add. Mortals love-sorry-loved that place. Plus it was very heavily guarded because of its popularity. That place was like a bunker.

"Yes, mortals are bound to be there!" Willy agreed. We began our journey to Fun Land, when we heard soft sobs coming from an alleyway.

"We should go check that out,yeah?" Willy asked. I rolled my eyes.

"You're going to go anyway so, why not?" I said confidently. We walked in the narrow alley and saw a small child sobbing into her knees.
I walked slowly behind Will, as he tip-toed closer to the child. The child's head shot up, and we jumped back. The child sobbed louder and my eyes scanned her looking for a sign that she wasn't human. Nothing. A sigh of relief escaped my mouth.

"We're not going to hurt you." Will said crouching to be at her height.

"You promise?" The little girl asked, looking at me. If we wanted to hurt her-trust me-we'd have done it already. She wasn't looking at me. She was looking at my hand, which held my wand. I sighed and hid it behind my back.

"Promise." Will replied, "What's you're name?"

"I-I'm Reece." She studdered.
"Well, why are you crying?" He asked. Isn't it obvious?!

"Look around you." She simply replied.

"I'd be dead if it wasn't for--" She stopped amd put her hamd over her mouth, gasping. I raised an eyebrow.

"If it wasn't for what?" I asked.

"Um, nothing." She answered quickly.

"The cube?" I asked.She looked towards Willy with a terrified face.
"The cube?" I asked louder and in a more irritated tone.

"Sar,cool it!" Willy yelled, pulling me away from the child. I hadn't realized that I was even closer to the child and that I grabbed her shirt.

William's P.O.V.
Something came over Sarah. She hasn't ever acted like that before. It was strange...like-like something was controlling her. Something very powerful. She doesn't seem to be to worried about it though. -------------------------------------------
Sarah's P.O.V.
I cleared my throat and backed away.

"Sorry." I said louder enough for her to hear.

"It's okay." She replied, still slightly scared.

"I'm William and this is Sarah." Reece looked at me and cringed. I bit my lip trying not to say anything. I failed.

"You have the cube?" I asked...a little too eagerly, regretting it. She nodded her head and slowly backed away. I squealed with excitement.

"Yes!" I yelled out.

"You're scaring her!" Will shouted.

"What did I do now?" I asked.

"Your eyes, for God's sake; they're green!" He replied, with worried eyes. A bit shocked, I shut my eyes tightly, then re-opened them.

"Better?" I asked. He nodded. I turned back to Reece.

"So you're telling me, you're one of THE three mortals?" I asked cautiously.

"Yeah, it's me, Louie, and Zoelle." She replied.

"Well,do you know where they are?" I asked.

"Yes, but..."
