Chapter 7

Sarah's P.O.V.

Liam has never raised his voice at me like that-let alone call me a monster. It struck a cord with me he would even say something like that to me.

You're misunderstood. By everyone. But I understand you perfectly.

I jump as I hear the sudden voice.

Who the fuck just said that?

I looked around. Everyone was definitely still discussing things in the staff room. I was alone.

Aw, don't be scared my dear, I'm just trying to cheer you up.

"Who the hell are you?" I whispered visibly terrified.

I'm a concerned friend...and I may know a way to save your friends, and get people to appreciate you more.

"How exactly?" I say furrowing my eyebrows.

I hear your foolish friends are planning on destroying the cube.

What? Why would they do that?

They think it would...save them. But it would only end it deadly consequences.

"What do you want me to do?"

You have to take the cube away from them. We-you can't let them destroy it. We need it intact in order for this to work. And please don't let them find out what you're up to.

Why?

You need to build trust with them, so they won't be suspicious.

"I have so many questions. First...why me?"

You are strong, Sarah. We need a strong person to accomplish this task. You are the only one who can do this successfully.

"I-I don't understand...where did you come from?"

Within.

"What does that me-"

"Sarah? Who are you talking to?" William asks as everyone files out of the room.

Remember. Don't let them find out.

"Oh um- just thinking to myself." I managed to stutter.

"Didn't know you could have thoughts." Liam mumbled under his breath, though I clearly heard him.

"Well when you're done talking to yourself, the crew's gonna take us to the cube. We think that if we destroy it we could end the war." William says.

"And what if it doesn't?" I say, trying not to sound suspicious.

"We have no other choice...unless you have an idea." Zoelle says eyeing me.
I shake my head.

This is going to be harder than I thought.

Don't mess this up, Sarah.

*Sigh* Thanks...no pressure or anything, right?
