Damian was home on time. Actually he was early. He had a happy smile on his face and a chipper, very hidden, hop in his step. Dick gazed at his baby boy in wonder. Who could have made his child smile so brightly. It wasn't one of his, "I'm amused" smiles. No. It was a full on, "could light Metropolis ten times over" smile. It was the most beautiful thing, next to being called Papa, he had ever seen. Both John and Colin followed him in, since they had planned to stay the night. The children giggled happily as they fell onto the couch and on top of the adult on said couch.
"Hello baby Super, Colin," Dick chuckled drunkenly. "I'm not the best right now, but Damian make a mean hot-coco."
"Papa?" Damian frowned at the dark haired adult. "How much did you have to drink?" He sat up and had his hands on his hips, like a mom scolding her unruly child.
"Two.... no..... six glasses," all three children stare at him shocked. "I'm out of practice," the adult rambled.
"Okay," John sighed. "I think I say for all of us, including you mister Grayson. That it is bed time." Damian nodded and got off his parent. Only to be brought back and used as a teddy bear. "Uh.... do you want help?"
"If we move him to his room he has a king sized bed," the other two children gained a mischievous look in there eyes. "My thought exactly. To bed!"
It actually took both John's superhuman strength and Colin as the adult Agony to get them to the bed room.
"Some how I don't want to do that again," Colin whispered. "How can you two be so heavy? It's like he is part cat." This caused the other two to burst out in quiet laughter.
"I don't know," Damian giggled. "Does that make me part cat also?" They all giggle as quietly as possible. Not truly registering that Dick wasn't actually asleep, nor was he going to prove he was. It wasn't everyday his child letdown his walls. No need to put them back up. Not to mention just how adorable the three's giggling and conversation was.
'They must be on to something,' Dick thought. 'Because it's not the first time I have been called part cat. I must ask Catwoman the next time I see her.'
"Okay, bedtime," Damian looked at the time. It was 11:30pm. His bed time. It was a newer thing put in place since Damian had insomnia, just like any of the Batfamily. Dick hoped it would help with that. So far his son had kept to the scheduled. How long it will last, well we'll see.
-till next time.
~DS35P.s. I totally feel like an actual writer with that ending. Like I could win award for it. I feel that good about it. Like it's actually close to Damian in the cutest way possible. He has a bed time and instead of doing it once and calling quits. He is still doing it. To make his papa proud!
