Chapter 6

Misha's POV:

I was silently sobbing followed by my hiccups when my mom entered and started to say something but abruptly stopped when she saw me with bags under my eyes, red eyes due to crying almost all night and running nose which indicates that I have caught cold very badly this time. She immediately ran towards me and hugged me tightly.

"Misha, what happened baby pearl?"

"Mamma, I want to resign as a doctor. I want to be just the CEO not the doctor CEO." I said still sobbing and hiccuping.

"Resign? That word sounds so foreign from your mouth Misha. Tell me what exactly has made you to use the word resign from your mouth?"

Then I have told the hospital incident and Ethan's indirect way of insulting me as a doctor followed by my insult to him as a customer. After finishing everything, I took a long breath waiting for her reply.

"Because someone happened to insult you and your treatment, you have decided to resign. Am I right?"

I nodded my head positively.

"Who is he to you?"

What in the Mount Everest she is talking about?

"Huh?"

"You have heard it right Misha. Who is he to you?"

The last time I checked, he is not my friend, not my relative, not my boyfriend, not my fianceè, not my husband and not a father to my kids.

"No one?"

"If he is no one to you, why are you planning to resign as a doctor and remain just as CEO not as doctor CEO?"

She has a point.

"Misha, if papers prove that you are a good doctor, then all worthless people will be assumed as good doctors not a deserving doctor like you. I know my daughter very well. She is the best doctor anyone could ask for. Just because someone said that you are a worthless one, it doesn't make you one. Ignore him Misha." She gave some silence for me to digest the information she has given to me.

Adam and Leylah entered the room with a frown on their faces.

"I'm going to kill that bastard. How dare he insult my baby sister?" Adam said fuming with rage and anger. Leylah held his bicep tightly as an attempt to calm him down which by luck worked.

Leylah said after a long silence on her part.

"I remember that day clearly when we both were graduating at London. You said that being a doctor is a responsibility not a job. Do you remember it? You also promised us on that day that you will never back off from being a doctor."

"I was the one addressing the crowd that day. That day was the most beautiful day of my life. How can I forget that day? Everyone were there on that day including Adam."

"Will you break your promise just because some unknown guy who is supposed to have some mental disorder has insulted you and your treatment?" Adam asked.

No. I won't. Heck no. I can't.

"No. I won't. Being a doctor is a responsibility not a job to resign. I will not resign. I will continue treating people. I will show that Ethan Clarkson how mean I can become if someone happens to insult me or my professions." I said wiping my stained cheeks simultaneously getting up from my bed and tying my hair in a pony.

Everyone had those proud smiles on their faces and said,

"There's the Misha we know and love."
