Misha's POV:

The next day I woke up when I felt someone shaking me vigorously as if I'm some sort of soda bottle. I have opened my eyes to see Anala shaking me and shouting at the top of her lungs,

"Micha wakie wakie."

"Anna baby, when did you come?" I asked while sitting straight on my bed or I should say his bed.

"Mishoo Micha." She said and hugged me.

They say mothers and daughters have a special connection. Whoever said that, it is absolutely true.

"I missed you too baby. Now tell me who got you here?" I asked pinching her cheeks to which she has giggled which sounded like music to me.

"Dada." She said and the events of last night came to my mind and my body started to sweat profusely. All the smile and colour on my face has drained out when I saw the devil himself walking in and sitting next to Anala and facing me.

"How did you sleep last night baby girl?" He asked with concern in his voice.

Wait a minute! Did I just say concern? I must be mistaken. How can he have concern that too on me?

"I slept well thank you." My voice came out like a frog's croak.

Till now my voice was good right? What happened suddenly right now? Holy muffins, this guy is too dangerous for me and my systems. I have to avoid him at all costs.

"That's good to hear from you baby girl. Get ready in 10 minutes. Everybody are expecting you downstairs. You have some rituals to complete." He said and lifted Anala and placed her on his hip.

God knows what is running in his mind right now. One moment he is like a devil and the other he is like a concerned husband. I must stay away from him.

Steeling my futile decision, I got down the bed only to be met with a sharp pain all over my body. I have ignored that and went to start my daily chores.

Thanks Ethan.

I have selected a casual dress today because I have to go to the hospital today. Leylah said that she will cover for me at the office. I have descended downstairs only to be met with the devil and his angel grandfather.

Two opposites sitting at the same table. Get lost devil and let me be with my grandpa.

"Good morning princess. Took you so long to come downstairs." He said.

"She has to get habituated to the surroundings grandpa. She must have found difficulty in finding things. Am I right baby girl?" The bipolar husband said without looking at me with his full concentration on his food.

"Um yeah yes. That's what has happened grandpa." I said but he looked suspicious. I have ignored it anyway and went to the main door.

"What's that on your neck princess?" He said and my blood immediately froze.

"What's on my neck?" I asked playing dumb.

"Something like some insect has bit you."

You yourself gave me an excuse. Thanks for that grandpa.

"Um yeah. There was a mosquito which bit me last night. Maybe that one I guess." I said with a doubt in my voice which is a fake one.

"There are no mosquitoes in the house and you didn't step out of the house. How come it bit you?" He eyed me suspiciously.

Busted.

"She must have gone for a walk late at night. She has that habit grandpa. Don't worry grandpa. She is old enough to take care of yourself."

You made this mess. You have to clear it no matter what. I'm not gonna involve in it. Face it.

"If you say so." He said and continued to have his breakfast. Once I was done wearing my heels for the day, I went to the main door again.

"Wait princess. Come have your breakfast." Grandpa called me.

Speak of the interruptions. Here I was thinking of going early to the hospital. Till now this is the second interruption. God knows how many more are left.  Why do you hate me so much god?

"No grandpa. I'm already late to the hospital. I have to be there by now. I'll skip for today. Sorry, bye and love you." I said and kissed his cheek.

"Your office starts at 11 right baby girl? It's only 9 now. Why are you in such a hurry? Come finish your breakfast."

Who are you to command me? Mind your own freaking business you jerk.

"Actually, I have to go and check the patients in the maternity ward. There will be some complications to the mothers."

"Does it look like I care? Finish your breakfast and then leave." His voice was harsh which made tears pool in my eyes.

"I don't care what you tell either. I have to attend the patients and that's what I will do. You are my husband that doesn't mean that you have a control over my life. I can take care of myself. No need to bother that much about me." I snapped at him and then realised what I have done.

Oh no! Not another dose of xanax. I don't want pain again.

My eyes widened in horror at the mere mention of xanax and the syringe in my brain.

"Okay baby girl. Go ahead. Take care of the maternity ward. Have a good day." He said calmly. He didn't grit his teeth nor his eyes darkened.

Lucky day.

I quickly ran out of the place not even bothering about turning around and saying bye to both of them. Within 15 minutes, I have reached the hospital and went directly to the maternity ward and from then, my duty began. After three hours of thorough checkup of each and ever mother and her baby, when I was satisfied with the results, I went to my cabin and started to go through the pending files. Some required surgery and I have fixed the final dates of the surgery for them. When I was done with the last file, I stretched on the chair and then I heard the door knock. I yelled a

"Come in."

That's when my heart dropped into my stomach.
